The witness reports that during the summer of 1977 something repeatedly came around the family home north of Dark Lake, disturbing a horse, splashing at the lake edge, and prompting nighttime pursuit with gunfire. Multiple family members, guests and neighbors reportedly heard sounds and caught glimpses over the summer, including a daylight sighting of a large reddish creature eating raspberries.

Three men were on a fishing and camping trip near Lake of the Woods when they saw a tall hairy figure watching them from behind a tree. The figure ran away bipedally, and a rotten stench was noticed in the area. As the men walked along railroad tracks bordered by swamp, a football-sized rock flew past them from the side with no one visible, and they later saw the figure run across the tracks ahead of them. They returned to camp and told local residents, some of whom said they had also seen a hairy person.

On a moonlit night in late October 1975, the witness was coon hunting along a ridge when both dogs became frightened and stayed by him. He heard a low moaning sound, a rock-throw-like crash into a brush pile, two tree-strike-like impacts, and something moving through leaves down a steep wooded slope. He called out but saw nothing and ended the hunt.

Two people drove a pickup down a remote logging trail and stopped at a washed-out bridge. From across the bridge they heard loud screams and howls that grew closer, along with crashing and breaking branches. Believing something was approaching them, they ran back to the truck, locked the doors, and drove away.

The witness was bowhunting from a tree stand when a creature walked past about 75 yards away. He noticed the distinctive swinging motion of its arms and hands as it moved. At the time he was unfamiliar with Bigfoot and described what he saw to his hunting partner as a swish bear.

The witness was driving past an open field when he saw two completely white ape-like creatures about 30 yards away. The pair froze in mid-stride as he passed, with the female turning toward the male, then disappeared into woods about 60 yards away before he could turn around for another look. He described the shorter one as gorilla-shaped and heavy and the taller one as more human-shaped, muscular, and about nine feet tall.

The witness was deer hunting from a stand when he heard an unfamiliar grunt. He watched a tall brown hair-covered figure approach to about 50 yards, yelled at it, and saw it turn to look before walking away toward cedars. He later returned with his father and estimated its height at about eight feet using nearby tree branches.

Moments later she saw a very tall, hair-covered, man-like figure by a tree that ducked behind it, then followed her at a distance as she ran home screaming. Her relatives later searched the site armed and reported matted brush with a bad odor.

About a month later while staying in a detached garage loft near Bemidji for tree work, the witness lay in bed with the window open and heard gibberish-like chatter outside. He stayed on the phone with a friend until the chatter stopped a couple hours later and had no further activity there.

About a week later the witness had a cousin staying to help clean the mostly empty house. While sitting upstairs they heard a door open and slow individual footsteps coming up from the basement area, which then stopped and quickly moved back down. Both left the house.

A couple years later on the last day of deer season the witness shot a buck from a stand and waited before approaching. When he neared the deer he heard a loud guttural growl that repeated and blocked approach. His father and brother joined him, all heard it, and they quickly loaded the deer and left.

About a year later the witness was walking with his spouse on mowed trails toward a cleared spot over the creek. A very loud growl or roar erupted from very close range and was felt physically in their bodies. Both stopped without speaking, turned, and hurried back to the house without seeing the source.

The witness and his spouse were sitting on the back deck of their new house on an open pasture. They watched three very large animals moving on all fours through tall grass about 300 yards away at high speed. The movement did not match bear or dog locomotion to the witness, and the size and group behavior seemed unusual for local bears.
