The witness and a relative had been target shooting and had returned to town when they heard an extremely loud scream from the woods they had just left, carrying across a large field. The witness released a dog to investigate, but the dog ran inside the house and refused to go back outside. The next morning the two returned to the area and found several trees with scratch marks about six feet above the ground.

The witness and their spouse were driving on the interstate at night when they saw a large creature cross the road ahead of them. The creature crossed three lanes in about four steps from left to right and was illuminated by oncoming traffic. By the time their car reached the crossing point, it was gone. After noticing sudden silence and a rising noise from across the river, they saw a tall hairy figure standing with one foot in the water and one on the bank. They stared at each other for several minutes, then the witness fired his rifle into the air and both fled by car.

The witness and three companions were coon hunting at night with three hounds along a logging road beside a swamp. The dogs yelped in fear and ran past the group back toward the truck. The group heard a deep growl and loud limb breaking and wood knocking moving toward them from the swamp, then left the woods and found the dogs shaking in their boxes on the truck.

The witness recalled seeing a light-colored hairy creature at the edge of a small woods near the family home on a summer afternoon. From about 70 feet away, the witness watched for about two minutes as it picked berries from a bush while bent over in tall grass. When it noticed being watched, it looked toward the witness, then took large steps into the woods and disappeared, after which the witness screamed.

A child playing in tall corn behind the house at dusk heard heavy bipedal footsteps and corn being pushed aside. The corn parted and a very tall, thick dark figure stood within arm's length, emitting a strong musky odor and a heavy sigh or grunt before running around the child and disappearing. The child's mother heard the footsteps and corn breaking but did not see the figure.

When the witness was thirteen, he and a companion were riding bicycles near abandoned railroad tracks when a small maple tree crashed down. The companion left immediately while the witness saw a very tall, hairy animal standing by the tree about ninety feet away and staring for a couple minutes. When the animal started walking toward him on two feet, the witness fled home by bicycle.

The witness was driving home alone in the early morning when headlights lit a large standing figure about twenty yards out in a bean field beside corn. The eyes reflected red and the head and upper body were visible above patchy fog, appearing as tall as the surrounding corn. The witness drove away frightened without stopping for a closer look.

A child staying overnight at a relative's farm looked out an attic window after bedtime and saw a dark figure illuminated by a truck's headlights near a shed. The figure had unusually long arms, a rounded head, and did not reflect light before running west. Two relatives searched the area with shotguns and a vehicle but found no one.

The witness and a relative were rabbit hunting after a light fresh snowfall when they found large fresh footprints leading into a tree grove and noticed a musty odor. They heard nothing, became frightened, and left immediately for the car. The witness notes the memory is old and that no photos were taken.

During a family weekend at riverside cottages, a group of children playing outdoors screamed and pointed toward the dense woods. Adults who ran outside reported seeing a tall, dark-haired biped walking away toward the treeline, with an additional young witness seeing only its back as it entered the woods. The witness, on duty overnight at a park gate, heard a loud terrifying scream from about 250 yards away accompanied by the sound of a large tree snapping and falling. After waiting about 45 minutes in the booth, the witness walked to the same spot and heard another scream from about 50 yards away, then stayed in the booth until daylight. A search of the immediate woods the next morning found nothing unusual.

The creature later came down to the barn, peered around it at close range, carried a dead foal and laid it in grass, then left with it through the woods. Neighbors later reportedly found the foal miles away with internal organs missing.
