The witness was at home in bed when repeating loud whoop-like sounds woke him and seemed to approach the house, getting louder and more frequent. He woke his wife, who also heard the sound, and went to the back door with a shotgun. When the sound was very close, he fired three rounds toward it, after which the vocalizations stopped and the source receded through the woods behind the house and was never heard again.

After other family members left the cabin for the evening, a father and his adult son stayed to clean the cabin exterior when stones began landing around them. They retreated inside as stones continued to strike the cabin on multiple sides. The witness was driving south on US 33 near Plattsburg late at night when an upright animal crossed the road west to east in front of the vehicle. The animal moved very quickly from the ditch to a fence, braced with its left hand and jumped over with both feet into corn. The witness described a very tall, stout, shaggy light red-brown animal seen in side profile without a clear view of head or feet.

The witness and a companion were finishing a dispersed camping trip and had hiked back to the car on a clear sunny day when the witness looked back at the treeline. About 500 feet away, two jet-black figures were visible near the tops of two adjacent pine trees, first taken for bears. The witness took phone photos and watched for about a minute as the figures stayed mostly still while wiggling and appearing to hug the trunks, then left after the companion grew concerned, later concluding they looked like lean human-like silhouettes rather than bears or humans.

Four people on a dirt-bike trip stopped at a dirt-road intersection and heard knocking like someone hitting a tree. After finding no people or vehicles nearby, one witness knocked on a tree and two or three loud knocks answered within seconds. The group left immediately, and a search the next day found no trails or camps to explain the sounds.

The witness and a companion walked into a meadow off an old logging road mid-afternoon after the companion made calls. While scanning the treeline the witness saw a large, silent figure move quickly left to right through trees, noting a hand and long straggly hair, then a second broader flash before losing sight. They radioed camp, waited and watched, and saw a deer approach closely then bolt screaming toward the woods; a later search with others found nothing further that day.

Late at night at home, the witness heard dogs barking and howling and went to the door with a flashlight to scan the woods. The beam caught two pairs of eyeshine on either side of a tree a short distance inside the treeline at different heights. The witness was driving on a highway in late morning when she noticed a figure at the edge of the woods by the road. She stopped for a better view and watched a tall, dark-haired, two-legged figure stare toward a pasture and then at her before walking into the woods in two long strides. She returned home shaken and later revisited the spot where flattened grass was noted.

The witness was sitting on a picnic table overlooking the lake and scanning the far treeline with binoculars while a relative photographed nearby. She noticed what looked like a dark head and upper body peeking from beside a tree across the lake, watched it for several minutes, then found it gone after looking away and back. She mentioned it to the relative, who searched with a camera lens but saw nothing.

After the leader produced knocks, responsive knocking came from timber about 50 feet away where a shadowy figure was seen, and the leader exchanged sounds with it. As the group hiked back to their cars they were flanked with glowing eyes, vocalizations and rustling.

Three people scouting Twin Creek for a fishing spot found a single very large footprint on a rocky sandbar. They photographed it beside a size 13 foot for scale and measured it at 15 inches long. Investigators later visited the exact site with the witnesses but found no additional tracks due to rocky substrate.
