Sasquatch sighting near Spokane, Washington (1970)
The witness said he suggested using female gorilla blood samples to draw wildlife and joined a small team including an anthropologist near Spokane for several days. From camouflaged positions in trees they watched an upright, over-eight-foot figure approach the bait, smell it twice, and leave silently with a strong wet odor. Footprints were cast and kept by the anthropologist.

She watched what looked like a calf under a cow that then stood on two legs, revealing a tall thin black figure that looked at her father before walking away. Her father told her to get down and later told her not to talk about such things outside the home.

While camped for months in the desert under the Superstition Mountains, the witness's family saw a tan figure standing on its hind legs on a hill like a human yet animal-like. The father chased, shot, skinned and cooked it, after which the witness became violently ill and the father changed behavior. Hours later a sudden monsoon with no warning destroyed their camp.

The witness and four cousins were playing tag at night at their grandmother's trailer by a cornfield in bright moonlight. Two younger cousins ran screaming from behind the trailer, followed by a very tall dark figure that ran past the witness in a few long strides into the cornfield. The group fled into the trailer and the grandmother then told them of prior activity on the same property.

The witness recalls seeing large tracks as an eleven-year-old outside Traverse City. Others dismissed them as bear tracks, but he doubted they looked like bear tracks.

Three siblings walking up a long rural driveway on a bitterly cold morning to catch the bus saw motion across a frost-covered field. What first looked like a frost-covered deer sitting up proved bulkier, with brown hair under frost, bent legs and long arms pushing off knuckles like a gorilla. It lunged sideways into a ditch with tall grass and scrub. They nicknamed it the frost gorilla.
Footsteps in South Dakota (1970)
At age six or seven the witness slept alone in a tent about fifteen feet behind the cabin as a toughness challenge. Half asleep, the witness felt picked up in the sleeping bag and carried about seventy-five yards away from the cabin into the woods, realizing from the receding back light and long strides it was not a parent. After a deep grunt and another approaching, the carrier returned and placed the witness back in the tent, where the witness woke reversed and partly outside the tent.

A welder working for a logging company went fishing for salmon with a helper when the woods went quiet. The helper fled up the mountain while the witness saw a tall hairy man-like creature jump across the river away from him. The witness caught fish and returned to camp, and the helper quit the next day.
Sasquatch sighting near Rainier, Oregon (1970)
The witness describes his family moving onto timber land in Rainier, Oregon and living there for about four years. During that time a group of four large hairy creatures repeatedly approached the trailers, looked in windows, pounded on walls, vocalized, left tracks and damaged property. Timber workers, well drillers and neighbors were also harassed, and the witness's sisters and mother eventually left for Washington because of fear.

During summer military training the witness was camped above treeline with a group and noticed movement across a valley about half a mile away. A dark figure crossed snowfields on two legs with long strides and swinging arms, moving fast in a way the witness felt was unlike a bear or a human. The group watched together until the figure blended into rocks and disappeared, and they were too frightened to inspect the area that night or the next day.

The witness was sleeping in a tent with other campers during a Girl Scout overnight stay when she was awakened by something pressing on the tent and making grunting sounds. After she scratched the tent fabric and made a loud sound herself, she felt something solid outside and heard a loud grunt or growl followed by crashing away through the underbrush. The other occupants screamed, camp leaders said everyone was accounted for, and an unrecognized funky odor was noticed.

When the witness was a young child, the witness and a companion were chopping a rotted fallen tree with hammers far out in a swamp. After hearing a loud noise described as like a scream, they saw a very large dark man-like form walking very near them. Both children dropped everything and ran home without looking back.

In the summer of 1970 the witness was walking with a pony and dog in thick woods behind the family home when a large dark hairy biped was seen on a hill beyond a fence about 50 feet away. The witness fled in fright while the animals showed no reaction. The figure was never seen again.
Late-night road-crossing sighting by firefighter near the Potomac River
Late at night the witness was driving on a rural road with a farm on one side and an apple orchard on the other when a large hair-covered figure crossed the road ahead of the vehicle. The figure paused in the middle of the road to look toward the headlights, allowing a clear view, then continued across. The witness kept driving, was shaken by the sighting, and avoided that road afterward.

The witness was playing outside at night by the driveway next to the woods and walked toward a streetlight when a tall hairy figure was standing directly in front. The witness looked up at its face and eyes while it looked down without expression, then ran inside to tell parents who dismissed it. A few minutes later a relative and a friend ran inside saying they heard someone walking in the woods.
Surprise observation by two hunters on the opposite bank of the river
Two relatives were hunting near a river and stopped at the edge to drink when they heard brush noises from across the water. A large brown figure emerged from the brush, moved downshore and crossed to their side while running on two legs. They then crossed to the other side and headed back upstream toward their trucks without further strange encounters.
Sasquatch sighting in Florida (1970)
As a small child sleeping in an isolated Florida ranch house on a bright summer night, the guest was awakened by livestock panic followed by silence and approaching footsteps. A massive dark form filled the bedroom window and seemed to look down at him while breathing heavily, terrifying him so badly he tried to hide under the mattress. He later identified the hairy arm seen in a movie as matching what was at his window.
Sasquatch sighting near Grantsville, West Virginia (1970)
The guest and his younger brother were on summer vacation at their grandfather's hillside house in West Virginia. After the younger brother fled the back bedroom saying a hairy face had pushed through the unscreened window while sniffing the air, both boys ran outside and, in headlights reflected off the siding, watched a dark bipedal figure go down the rear embankment and crash through a dense briar thicket. The next morning their uncle turned pale when told and warned them to stay out of the back.
