Young man has several possible day-time encounters near Moses Mountain in the '70s
In July 1977 the witness was helping a relative fix fence on a hill behind the ranch around noon. He and the relative saw two tall pine trees sway inside the fence line and then heard a loud yelling uhhing sound. A tall tree bent sharply and crashing movement through dense brush showed where a large animal was moving.
Graceful creature ran by man when he was 15
While deer hunting alone from a stump, the witness saw a large human-like figure run through brush about 50 feet away. The figure was first mistaken for the witness's father, but the father then appeared elsewhere on foot, smaller and much noisier. The witness described the figure as huge, powerful, fast, graceful and quiet.

A couple driving west over Skyline Drive in the morning saw a large hairy biped running toward the road. The driver slowed as the creature crossed about 10 feet in front of the car, continued past the car, then went up a steep embankment into dense foliage and out of sight. The witnesses said it ran on two legs the entire time, never slowed, and ignored them.

Two witnesses driving west on Highway 41 between Three Lakes and Tioga around sunset stopped to watch a tall white-furred biped standing on a hilltop south of the road. They described it as human-like but much larger, covered in long flowing hair, watching them from about 100 to 150 feet away for about 30 seconds. They then left unnerved, stating they had consumed only coffee.

In September 1970 the witness and her husband were hiking a deserted trail in Pikes Peak State Park toward the Mississippi River overlook. From behind trees they heard extremely loud thumping sounds followed by an unfamiliar loud scream, without seeing the source. Frightened, they ran back to the ranger station to report what happened. Years later after watching television programs, the witness concluded the sounds were likely made by a bigfoot.

A family living in a thinly populated brushy area reported encountering three hairy upright creatures in their yard at night while calling for a pet dog. An animal initially mistaken for the dog stood up and walked away to join two larger individuals, and all three left into the brush. The account was relayed to night-shift deputies by the head of the household, who described the group as differing in size.

The witness, then ten, was accompanying a relative on a deer hunt on Peavine Mountain when both heard a long siren-like call from a shadowed draw to the west. The call lasted 15-20 seconds and was repeated multiple times, seeming to move farther away. The relative dismissed it as a fire-tower siren and ended the outing, and they left without further incident.

As a young child playing in fields at night, the witness became separated from two companions and started walking home alone. The witness noticed a strong odor, shone a flashlight, and saw a tall hairy figure standing on two legs. After staring briefly, the figure dropped between hay rows and made a high-pitched cackle, and the witness ran home.
Couple hear screams, whistles, and something running near them
The witness and spouse were awakened while camping on a river gravel bar by loud whistling and screaming calls coming from multiple directions that seemed to answer each other. They also heard very heavy running footsteps on a nearby road hidden by trees, which sounded like a heavy person running. The close runner then vocalized loudly before moving away, with the whole episode lasting about five minutes.

On the next two nights after moving in, the witness awoke to loud screaming outside the house. He describes three distinct voices, including a deep sound and sounds like a woman and a baby. The parents were also awake having coffee at the time.

The witness had just moved into a rural log house. During the first night he awoke outdoors some distance from the front door in his underwear after following a multicolored light he describes as like a window. He says stepping on an acorn woke him and the light vanished.

Two scouts walking on a gravel road in a pine forest at night smelled a foul odor and heard gravel being disturbed. They then saw a large, hairy silhouette run across the road and fled back to camp. When they told their scout leader, he laughed and sent them to bed.
Woman describes a childhood encounter outside a tent on the edge of Lake Shasta
While camping with family, the witness woke in the middle of the night and looked out of the tent expecting a bear. About 15 to 20 feet away under the hung food bag stood two very tall, upright, dark-haired figures, one noticeably taller than the other. After the witness gasped, both figures looked at the witness, glanced at each other, then left silently into the darkness. The witness told no one at the time and searched for tracks the next morning without success.

The witness walked into woods toward a stream to look for siblings and heard noise from out of sight across the stream. A very large dark long-haired figure walking upright then came down the stream, stopped nearby, and looked toward the witness. The witness remained still until the figure walked away, then ran back upset.

The witness returned to a creek bridge with a sibling and the sibling's friend to retrieve items left after an earlier scare. While standing on the bridge, the witness looked about 200 feet down the creek and saw a very large hairy animal walking on two legs along the creek. The witness first joked that it was a person in a gorilla suit and only heard about Bigfoot several years later.
Forest Ranger finds broken trees, "nest", pile of dead rabbits
In mid-summer 1970 the witness was looking for a target-shooting spot in a meadow east of the Sandy River. He found birch saplings snapped off and arranged into a large nest-like structure near a pile of gutted rabbits, with a strong odor of death, unnatural silence, and a feeling of being watched. He left to find a ranger station, and one ranger returned with him, took photos, and also noted the silence and feeling of being watched.

The witness was traveling with horses when a huge biped was seen moving across open country without running. Horses in a trailer panicked as it approached with the wind. Locals later said grizzlies do not travel on hind legs and called it a sasquatch.

A family group of six was inside a large tent at night during a thunderstorm when they smelled an overpowering odor and heard loud screaming approach. A large hairy figure stood over the tent, visible in lightning flashes, screaming for several minutes while the occupants huddled in fear. An adult companion left the tent, apparently confronted the creature amid scuffling and growling, then returned pale and blocked the zipper until dawn when the group left.

In mid-summer 1970 the witness was driving along the Sandy River looking for a place to target shoot when he found saplings snapped off with the tops formed into a large bedding area. Nearby were several freshly gutted rabbits, a death-like smell, and unusually silent woods. He left to find a ranger station and returned with a ranger who photographed the site, after which both described themselves as becoming believers.

During the summer of 1970, the witness and four companions were playing outside at night in the backyard when they noticed a strong dead-like odor. They then observed red glowing eyes in the dark woods beyond the chainlink fence from a taller-than-human figure that stood watching them. Frightened, the children ran inside to tell relatives but were not believed.
