The witness, then a young child, was building a small dam in a stream after a relative left to find larger rocks downstream. A large hairy creature appeared standing across the stream a few feet away and stared at the witness without moving. When the witness looked away to call for help, the creature disappeared, and both children fled without checking for prints.

Two companions sitting on a pipeline corridor heard alternating bird-like calls and wood-knock sounds for about 20 minutes that grew louder and seemed to come from very close by. When they stood to look, they saw a tall grey-haired animal about 20-30 yards away staring at them. Both the witnesses and the animal immediately fled, with the animal crashing in a straight line uphill through the woods.
Strange sounds heard over the course of that summer
The witness was at home at night when called outside by a relative to listen to a distant low moaning howl lasting several minutes while many dogs barked. The sound seemed to fade as if moving away and frightened the witness. No creature was seen and no tracks were found. The witness states similar howls occurred a couple more times that summer.

Late at night two companions were watching TV in a mobile home when they heard a noise at the front. The witness looked through the door window and described a large face peering in that then screamed and pushed away. Both went out the back and watched the figure step over a barbed-wire fence and run away hunched over with very long arms. A next-day search found no tracks, but they measured the door window at seven and a half feet above the ground.

A large black hairy creature crossed the road in front of them and went down a trail toward their woods fort. The witness followed, confronted it at close range, saw a muscular creature with a blonde head patch and expressionless face, then yelled for the others to retreat and ran home.
Future doctor sees giant tracks high in Rawah wilderness
In summer 1971 the witness and two companions found about a dozen very large human-like footprints crossing remaining snow patches in a high alpine meadow in a Colorado wilderness area. The prints were described as well-detailed, much larger than a large human foot with a stride of four feet or more, and were judged not to be bear tracks, with no prints visible on firm ground between snow patches. The witness noted possible enlargement by summer melt and refreeze and considered a hoax unlikely due to remoteness, and left the area frightened.

In 1971 the witness was alone watching TV at the parents' rural house near Myrtle Point. After hearing dogs bark, smelling a strong foul odor, and hearing footsteps on an outside plank, she saw a tall hunched hairy female figure pass a glass door. The figure stopped, turned toward her and made eye contact, after which she fainted and was later found on the floor by her parents. Her father searched outside with a flashlight but found nothing.

The witness had pulled over at night and was outside the vehicle with a companion when movement on a rock cliff across the road caught attention. The witness watched a tall, dark, hair-covered upright figure with a broad torso for several seconds before it turned and disappeared silently. The companion reportedly saw only a brief shadowy movement, and a next-day check of the spot found nothing unusual.

The witness and two companions took off from Andros Island for Florida and climbed through a small lenticular cloud that repeatedly overtook them. They entered a large horseshoe-shaped storm, flew through a circular tunnel that shrank around the plane, and emerged into gray fog with malfunctioning instruments. The flight landed in about 47 minutes, far faster than normal, which the witness describes as an 80-mile teleportation.

A group setting up an elk hunting camp found large footprints in deep snow. The writer joined in following the trackway down below the snow level. The tracks were very large with very long strides and led away from camp.

He described it to parents as an ugly man in a toboggan and fur coat, later interpreting the covering as gray hair. The witness and a relative followed large human-like tracks in mud from the edge of a soybean field through a forest into a clearing. The clearing contained many dog prints in a circle and blood on the ground. The tracks then continued into a bog.

The witness was driving west late at night when a 6-foot-tall hairy creature stepped into the road. It crossed slowly about 50 yards in front of the vehicle and showed no fear. The creature was described with reddish-orange hair, massive legs, long arms, and eyes that shone emerald green in the headlights.

Four college students were driving slowly on a snow-covered road at night when a large hair-covered biped came from a field toward the road. It stepped over fences and ditches and crossed in front of their car from right to left without looking at them. The occupants watched it continue into the opposite field and drove on without stopping to look for it.

The witness was deer hunting from a stand when he heard an unfamiliar grunt. He watched a tall brown hair-covered figure approach to about 50 yards, yelled at it, and saw it turn to look before walking away toward cedars. He later returned with his father and estimated its height at about eight feet using nearby tree branches.

The witness and two companions were hunting deer in fresh snow when they found very fresh large human-like barefoot tracks. They followed the tracks about 50 yards to a dirty depression where something large appeared to have been lying, then saw the tracks continue downhill. No animal was seen, and heavy snow limited visibility to a few yards.

Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.

The witness was sitting alone on a stump while deer hunting when a large human-looking figure ran past about 50 feet away from right to left through heavy brush. The witness initially mistook the figure for a companion, noting its quiet, graceful and powerful running and a hood-like appearance. Shortly after, the companion appeared on foot from the same direction, noisy and much smaller relative to the brush, making the witness realize the first figure was much larger.

In October 1970, a teenager watching television indoors glanced toward a large picture window and reported a tall grey hair-covered figure standing very close outside staring in. The figure remained motionless while staring directly, with massive arms, reddish glowing eyes, and visible breathing. After the witness fled to another room, the figure was gone.
