The witness, home from school, was standing in woods near a deep ravine when they heard something walking through leaves. They then watched for a few seconds a very large, hairy figure walking upright uphill about 50-100 yards away, with its head obscured by branches. The figure quickly disappeared, and when the witness crossed to the other side they found nothing, noticed complete silence, became frightened, and ran home to tell a relative who did not believe them.

The witness, then a child, was hunting with the witness's father and a companion along a river when a very loud single scream lasting several seconds stopped the group and frightened them. The older hunters reportedly had never heard a similar animal sound. As the group left the area, the companion reported movement in nearby trees and large footprints in the river sand.

As juniors in high school age, the witness and a friend found large footprints in snow and nearby unfrozen animal intestines, which frightened them. The figure paused when they struck the glass, then continued leaving. A day later they found tracks behind the house leading toward the houses.

While fleeing the farm on foot, the witness left the gravel road and became stuck in deep swamp muck and water. A large hairy bipedal female emerged from the tree line, waded to him, lifted him by his jacket, carried him back to the roadside ditch, and left. Late at night after a loud bang on the van and seeing a shadow, nearby campers fled, then the group watched a tall hairy biped with a dog-like snout descend a rocky ridge, heard a loud growl, and were pelted with gravel before fleeing the park before dawn.

The witness was riding as a front-seat passenger in a car of teenagers driving slowly on a country road at night with headlights off. When the driver switched the headlights on, those in the front seat noticed a large hair-covered human-like creature emerging from a deep roadside ditch about 20 feet away. The driver drove away quickly while the witness kept watching the still creature, which had wide eyes and an open mouth, as they passed.

As a child the witness and friends found very large pressed-down beds in tall grass in a field that could fit several kids. In winter at the same spot they found very large footprints in snow with long stride they could not match. They joked about giants at the time and thought no more of it until later.

While hunting from a tree stand shortly after sunrise, the witness saw a frightened deer run by followed by two upright hairy figures. One figure came within about 15-20 feet, stared face-to-face at eye level for 10-15 seconds and emitted a deep growl before leaving. The witness fled toward a nearby farmhouse, fired a rifle shot overhead and shouted, while movement and noise paralleled him in the woods.

The witness was squirrel hunting along a creek when dogs approached from the opposite bank. A hair-covered biped broke through brush, slid toward the water, climbed back up, looked toward the witness, then jogged north out of sight. The dogs stopped barking and did not follow the trail to the creek.

Two teenagers walking west along a feeder stream around midday saw four dark creatures about 75 yards away on and around the stream bank. The largest stood about eight feet tall while the others were sitting, lying, and standing in the water, and the group watched the witnesses for a few minutes. The pair ran east to a power-line cut and then south to a highway, went home, and told only their parents.

In the fall of 1971 the witness and a companion were walking west along a small stream through wetland and thick forest. About 100 yards ahead they saw four dark, stocky creatures by the water in different positions, with the largest standing upright. After calling out and seeing the largest turn toward them, they concluded the beings did not seem human and ran south toward route 80, later telling their parents.
