After the prior road encounter, while driving on a remote Kansas road early in the morning with dim headlights, the witness saw something cross the road very low to the ground. It moved like a pouncing cat but appeared to army-crawl on tiptoes and fingertips, which struck him as unnatural. He considered turning around to look closer but decided not to.

While driving to work in the early morning the witness saw heat lightning behind him and then a bright neon-blue flash revealing a large oval object in the clouds ahead. About 20 to 30 seconds later a tall thin wolf-like biped sprinted from a mowed field across the road in one stride. It leaped about 20 feet into a tree over a creek, spun, steadied itself with a hand, and stared at him as he passed with high beams on.

While coon hunting at night in timber with a companion, the witness saw balls of light drift across in front of them. They described what they saw to each other and confirmed it. A few minutes later it drifted back by against any wind, appearing as a bluish-white ball larger than a basketball.

For almost every night over the next three months the witness returned to the same area to fish. He repeatedly heard hollers as something walked by and heard movement in brush behind the original encounter tree. When he caught fish he left them by the tree for it and then walked away.

Two men saw three shapes in trees that dropped down, approached, stood on two legs, and vanished when spotlighted. Lights shut off, something circled them, and they later found very large hoof-like prints and saw a large cat cross the trail.

On a morning visit to a research area, the witness saw a dark-haired upright figure stand up in a wheat field about 50 yards away and run toward the river bottoms. Wheat about four feet high suggested it was about eight feet tall. The party then followed its path and heard footsteps and knocking or mouth-popping paralleling them on a ridge.

While home alone during a heavy nighttime storm, the witness watched lightning flashes reveal a person-like figure standing by a power pole behind the house. The figure appeared to change positions between flashes. He loaded a gun, stayed on the couch, and found no tracks in the morning because rain had washed the ground.

About a year after the first sighting, the witness returned to hunt the same woods and heard someone walking. After calling out and firing a shot in the air, something charged through the brush breaking branches. He fled and ran all the way home without looking back.

It turned to snarl, dove over a barbed wire fence, dropped to all fours, and disappeared into tall grass. He took the long way home in shock and was frightened of the dark for months afterward.

Over late summer into fall the guest and his wife repeatedly heard something in the woods by the painting studio baying, whining and almost crying in the dead of night. It occurred every couple weeks, about half a dozen times, and shining flashlights revealed nothing. The sounds then stopped and did not recur.

They heard several sounds like poor impressions of owls, then coyotes, and hills to the west and northwest erupted with many similar callers for almost a minute. The sound then changed again to an indescribable impression before fading, and the friend left.

From about a mile and a half away he heard a long sustained howl he compared to the Ohio howl. It did not frighten him because of the distance, and he took it as a sign the creatures were also present there.

When a light came on he dropped his rod, the creature stood, turned its torso, showed its teeth, held up a catfish and swayed while slapping the fish. After the witness looked down to grab his rod, the creature quickly disappeared under the river bank.
