The following fall archery opener, five hunters camped at the same site and the guest shot a buck in hot weather, butchering it and hanging the inedible carcass across the creek about nine feet up. After 10 p.m. they heard heavy footfalls and feeding grunts, fired guns to scare the animal, found the carcass pulled down, rehung it higher twice with the same result, then listened as it stripped rib meat requiring great grip strength. One companion left for Alaska afterward and the guest never returned to the area.

Scream
On a nine-day horse-supported deer hunt deep in the Trinity Alps, the witness and one companion camped apart with a pack mule. A long scream ending in a pulsating roar sounded downhill, and less than an hour later the mule was found injured and alarmed staring toward the trees. No deer were seen all week and others reported rocks sliding down on them.
Eyeshine near Tuolumne County
The witness and his father camped to build blinds and saw three sets of tall red eyeshine outside the fire circle that dimmed when lit. Later something struck their truck camper hard enough to knock items off shelves, then a loud woman-like scream sounded nearby with an answering scream where the eyes had been, followed by movement around the camper all night.
Tree break in Massachusetts
As a child the witness was scouting deer sign with his father when the family dog ran ahead and began yipping. They heard branches breaking and the dog go silent, and the father drew his sidearm and backed out with the child. The next day they returned with another officer and found the dead dog under cover near the father's tree stand, and the father said a huge Sasquatch-like beast was responsible.

The guest joined a paranormal group to investigate a barn where tools were reported knocked from walls. While going upstairs with another investigator, he felt stinging then intense burning pain on his back. Others removed his shirt to find whelp-like whip marks that took over a week to heal.

The guest, a delivery truck driver, was en route to a distribution center in York when he saw a large dark figure by a creek from a bridge. He stopped along with another driver to watch it, thinking it was a bear. The figure stood to about eight and a half feet, looked like a hairy human holding a dead goat or dog, grunted, slammed a fist into the water, then dropped to all fours and fled rapidly through water and woods. A state trooper who responded suggested a bear, which both witnesses rejected.

While camped with volunteers for an archaeology project in California, the witness heard something approach her tent at night and felt it touch the tent from top to bottom. She got out to look but found nothing. After re-entering, she heard a bang by her head, concluded it had been in a tree, then heard it walk away over granite.

While out with tribal members to assess a meadow, the group left a vehicle with keys on the windshield and returned to find the keys missing. After searching the ground, they found the keys up in the nook of a tree branch. A tribal member attributed the move to Yali, while the witness said she had no other explanation.

During summer reunions at his grandparents' house, the witness and cousins sleeping in tents repeatedly heard distant howls. They asked adults about the sounds, but the adults dismissed them. The witness later recalled this as early unexplained activity before moving to Pennsylvania.

The guest described maintaining a long-term gifting interaction in the woods, leaving food and alcohol. After requesting a skull, he found a freshly killed groundhog head in a copse of trees and did not take it. He said a series of bad events followed in the same area.

The hunter was in a raised stand on his own property in the morning and repeatedly mistook a dark shape for a neighbor's large dog. On a closer look it stood upright and stared at him. He tried to photograph it with his phone, considered using his rifle for proof, then looked away and it was gone silently.

The witness was solo hammock camping when he heard a duck or goose mauled with splashing, then movement around him in the dark. A loud grunt from up high that felt like it went through him frightened him. He packed up and left the woods that night.
