Several years before the interview, the guest was bass fishing with a club partner on a lake off Highway 12. For about 45 minutes they heard heavy branch-breaking and something moving along the shore paralleling their boat from about 20 yards offshore. His partner dismissed it as elk, but the size and single-animal character stuck in his mind and rekindled his interest in the subject.

The guest recalls being a small child at the family cabin near Packwood when the family went into the hills to cut firewood. He wandered from the truck in a melting snow and mud clear cut and found very large tracks with distinct toes dropping down a bank. His skeptical father dismissed them as a hunter and made the children leave, but later arranged to revisit the site with a neighbor.

The witness was sent up a gravel farm road to get the evening paper. Near a berry thicket the witness saw a tall hairy figure pulling vines to its mouth. The figure looked at the witness, grimaced, and came forward, then stepped over a fence. The witness fled back to the house on a bicycle.

While road hunting with family in a truck, the caller saw a creature standing beside the road behind a tree, holding the top bent over to look at them. They made eye contact for three to five seconds. When he looked away and back it was gone, the tree was swinging, and he glimpsed it moving downhill on all fours. After this he quit hunting.

After sitting down in a tree stand, the hunter heard an intense low roar from behind that he could not see because of tree limbs. About fifteen minutes later a second similar roar came from the front left. He waited about an hour before leaving for his vehicle and never used a tree stand again.

While using a hilltop drive tactic to move deer toward waiting hunters, the caller was growled at. No creature was seen in this incident. It was one of several experiences in the same small hunting zone.

While driving past a mowed field the witness noticed an unusually large dark stump where no stump was known to exist. After passing, the witness stopped and backed up within seconds. The shape was gone, inferred to have moved quickly into nearby kettle woods.

While setting up a deer stand with his father and son about 100 yards from the truck, the witness heard a huge gyro-like startup sound rise to a high-pitched hum then stop. Returning to the truck they found precise hieroglyphic-like marks in the dust and a small handprint with very long fingers on the door edge. Nearby in an acre-sized opening they found three equally spaced triangle-arranged ground indentations.

The witness reports noticing a pitch-black outline-like figure standing motionless beside a tree trunk. He watched it for about 30 seconds to get a good view. He had a scoped rifle but chose not to aim it at the shape in case it was a person.

While walking in the woods on their North Texas property, the witness says on a couple of occasions something moved parallel to the group. The sounds stopped when they stopped, taking one or two extra steps. The family could not see what was making the noise.

Crew members on a fishing boat anchored off Village Island noticed a strong unfamiliar odor after entering a bay. After dark a large crouched creature with elongated red eyes appeared on the shoreline and was watched for almost an hour. One experienced hunter aboard said it was not a bear and chose not to shoot.

The witness, a longtime salmon fisherman, had anchored for the evening in Southeast Alaska and watched a large grizzly bear on a nearby beach. The bear suddenly froze and fled into brush. A tall hair-covered biped then walked out, stood watching the boat for about 15 seconds, and quickly disappeared into timber.
