The witness and his friend stopped on a narrow mountain road at night and saw a huge backlit hairy figure watching them from uphill. The witness threw a beer bottle toward it, it grunted and swayed, and they fled in the truck.
Scream near Wallowa, Oregon (1997)
The witness and his young son camped in a clearing north of town while waiting for a relative before a deer hunt. After dark the forest went silent and they heard long loud screams that sounded closer over several hours. In headlights across the road they saw huge hands parting small trees and the top of a hairy head, then left for town and tracked flattened grass with a very long stride the next morning.

Extended daylight sighting from tower at Kelly's Bog in Kouchibouguac National Park
The witness was on a solo vacation and stopped at a large bog with a viewing tower in a national park. Early one morning he watched a uniformly greyish-brown upright figure from about 500 feet away, first walking away and then crossing his view for about 20 minutes while appearing to pick plants. He walked the boardwalk at ground level and then returned to the tower for the longer observation. He did not follow it into the bog and left without a definite identification.
Possible scream/howl heard near residence in Van Etten
In late summer or early fall 1997 around 10pm, the witness and the mother sat quietly on a relative's back deck watching stars in darkness. A strange vocalization lasting about five seconds came from 20 to 30 feet down the yard, then repeated seconds later from closer. The witness tried to turn on a light and searched the yard with a flashlight but saw nothing, and both went inside. No trace was found when checked the next day.
A family's encounters with a reddish brown beast outside of Newcomerstown, Ohio
The witness reports sitting on a deer stand by a field with relatives during a sunny day. The witness looked west and saw a tall reddish-brown animal with dark deep-set eyes, facial hair, and a broad forehead. After looking away briefly, the witness looked back and the animal was gone.

The main witness was sitting on a log hunting squirrels after an older relative moved to another area. A dark hairy figure reportedly ran upright from behind a tree very fast, making a high-pitched noise with loud thumping footsteps. After it disappeared, the witness ran to tell the older relative, who did not believe the account.

The witness reported being out with a camera in Beaver Creek State Park on a late afternoon when prolonged howl-like sounds were heard. After helping at another house, the witness and a companion drove home through wooded roads late at night. Their headlights caught a very large, tall, dark-brown figure running across the road about 40 to 50 feet away. In a few long strides it disappeared into the woods, and the frozen ground left no tracks to examine.

The witness and a relative were driving at night when headlights illuminated a reddish-brown hair-covered creature sitting on its haunches in the opposite lane. As they passed within a few feet it remained unconcerned but turned its head to watch them, revealing a human-like face with dark eyes and skin. The witness compared its seated height to that of an average man and noted a slender build.

In the fall of 1997 a woman caller reported seeing a creature in a heavily wooded house area. A dispatcher relayed the report to the writer. The creature reportedly moved with incredible speed after the woman screamed on seeing it. The writer recalls no further details, noting memory of specifics has faded.

The witness was driving at night with a relative while looking for deer when gold eyes were noticed off the left side of the road. On approaching, they saw a roughly six-foot-tall figure with long brown hair standing by a fence and swaying side to side. They drove slowly past without stopping and did not return.

The witness camped on a trail in Shenandoah and stayed in the tent all night. He heard unexplained noises throughout the night. He did not see anything and did not know what made the sounds at the time.

The guest and several friends hiked up a trail into a large, deep canyon. The woods went quiet and felt wrong before they heard a very loud, long yell like an old police siren from the ridge. They ran out of the canyon without seeing anything.

While hunting alone in daylight at Mud Springs, the witness came over a knoll and saw a brown shape brush past a pine and drop down a creek bank. He walked to the tree and found the branch still swaying above his reach, heard walking receding downhill, followed briefly, then circled back to camp and told the others.
Scream in West Virginia (1997)
The witness and his stepfather had just reached the foot of the mountain to hunt when they heard a loud scream repeated four or five times followed by a sigh-like sound. Both men aborted the hunt and walked back to the house.
Paranormal encounter in Michigan (1997)
The witness and a trooper responded to a health facility for a report of a possibly suicidal staff member who had reportedly turned his head fully backward with eyes rolled back. The next morning multiple officers fought for many minutes to restrain the same small man, who displayed extraordinary strength, chanted unintelligibly, and turned his head backward with whitened eyes. Medical testing reportedly found no drugs or alcohol, and the man later left the area.
Rural family's dog chases young sasquatch
After arriving home after dark with headlights on, the family heard their dog barking and crashing through vegetation as it chased something toward the car. An upright, dark-brown furry creature burst from behind a tree into the headlights, came within about twenty-five feet, then turned and ran back into the woods with the dog in pursuit. The family watched for a few seconds before retreating into the vehicle, frightened.
Whistle in Oklahoma (1997)
The witness was deer hunting alone from a power line easement and walking back to the truck when a rock struck his chest. A creature screamed and ran toward him, then appeared at his truck and climbed onto the bed. He shot it with a .22 Magnum above the eye, it fled screaming, and a large rock later struck his truck on a bridge as he drove out.
