The witness and a companion were duck hunting by boat in a Louisiana bayou at dawn when they noticed a large hairy form in the water ahead. The form appeared to walk upright toward them, showing long hair, a bearded face, and swaying shoulders above the waterline. Unable to identify it or get a verbal response, they became frightened and motored away, abandoning their decoys.

Family members found a line of large human-like footprints in sand that started at a lake, went up a steep sand bank, and continued toward a thick swamp. The prints were described as about 16 inches long with a very long stride of about eight feet. The discovery was reported in summer 1991 after a relative noticed the tracks by the lake.

The [name withheld] was driving north on I49 when they saw a tall, black, hairy bipedal creature standing about 100 yards away near a fence and woods. Another driver ahead also appeared to see it, and both drivers later stopped at a gas station and confirmed to each other that they had seen something unusual. The [name withheld] stated it was not a bear and has since shown the spot to friends but never investigated on foot.

The witness was baiting coon traps on a powerline edge after dark when he heard something approaching in the woods. The source stayed about 10 yards inside the treeline pacing back and forth and did not emerge. When the witness shone a flashlight toward the sounds he could see nothing for undergrowth, heard whooping, and the source ran off.
