The witness searched with a flashlight but saw and heard nothing further and felt the animal might be hiding nearby, so they left the area.

The witness was camping with a scout group at Loon Lake when two groups of loud, low howl-like calls were heard from a distance through the forest in the early morning. The witness, accompanied by relatives in the tent, described the calls as powerful and haunting and thought they came from a very large animal. Other campers also heard the sounds, with some attributing them to wolves, while the witness later felt they matched a sasquatch howl recording.

The witness was walking in hills several miles from the house when they came across large prints in snow. Once sounds were very close in the trees after dark and the dogs barked aggressively at the vehicle windows, the witness left the area by vehicle.

The witness was driving with companions toward Potlatch when a large dark figure appeared by the road. The figure crossed the highway in three long steps, swinging its long arms, then crossed a ditch and disappeared into the pine forest. The witnesses looked but did not see it again in the woods.

During the annual week-long elk hunt with his long-time hunting partner, the witness waited in a concealed roadside alcove while his partner still-hunted the opposite side of a brushy clearcut canyon and reported via radio a dark upright figure moving toward the witness. The figure crossed the road about 30 yards from the witness in a few silent steps and dropped into the canyon, after which both hunters left for camp. After returning on ATVs to measure a branch the figure had passed under they saw the figure standing across the canyon watching them before it walked into timber, after which they packed up and the witness stopped hunting.

Around midnight in September, the witness was walking between facilities when loud growl-to-scream vocalizations began from a creek bed about 300 yards away. The calls repeated 10-15 times over 15-20 minutes while the source seemed to move nearer, farther, and side to side. The witness brought a neighbor outside so both heard the sounds, then returned to the cabin and kept weapons close. A next-day search of the creek bed found no tracks or other sign.
