The witness went for a late-night walk in foggy conditions near beach cabins. He heard a terrifying growl and saw large red eyes approaching, making out a massive silhouette with shoulders taller than himself. After the creature lunged, he fled back to the cabin and locked himself inside.

The witness and a companion parked after dark in an observation lot and heard chattering and rock-clacking from a hillside, then approaching bipedal footsteps crossing the lot. The witness repositioned the vehicle to shine headlights and glimpsed a large bipedal figure vaulting a barrier and descending an embankment. Afterward the witness found fresh muddy footprints crossing the road and lot on the same path.

The witness was driving slowly while road hunting in a gated clearcut area before dark. A large black figure stood up about 15 feet away on a steep downhill slope, showed agitated movements and cheek puffing, muttered and then screamed before leaving over a stump downhill. About an hour later the witness returned with two companions and all three heard pounding on trees and mumbled vocalizations before leaving.

The witness and a relative were outside a vacant house when they heard a loud high-pitched screeching yell echoing from the distant hills and woods. The sound repeated four times at roughly five-second intervals and then stopped. Both witnesses heard the repeated sounds, which they described as unfamiliar and unlike an elk or dog.

The witness was hunting deer alone on a steep slope and camped overnight beneath a tree among boulder fields. About two hours after sunset he heard a single extremely loud guttural scream coming from the direction of the snow-covered peak. The witness was riding as a passenger northbound on Highway 20 toward Deception Pass Bridge in the afternoon. While looking out the passenger window into the treeline, she saw a humanlike, apparently unclothed figure sitting on a branch, leaning out and holding on with one arm while watching traffic below. The view lasted about two seconds and was backlit, showing only an outline with a sloping head; the driver did not see it and they did not turn around.

Two people set up a tent and campfire at a remote evergreen forest campsite after arriving around sunset. While sitting at the fire they heard a loud low-toned scream lasting a few seconds that ended abruptly, estimated to come from a ridge about one-half to one mile away. They heard no other unusual sounds during the next three days.

While deer hunting with his girlfriend, the witness stopped at a landing and heard loud rhythmic knocking from a distant creek bottom. The witness and a companion were sitting outside their truck hunting deer near an empty pond when they heard movement in brush. After two does trotted away, they heard a loud deep roar trailing to a squeal and then saw the same deer sprint closely past them. They then heard loud heavy running described as distinctly two-legged along the ridgeline and fled in their vehicle.
Multiple witnesses hear possible vocalizations near Darrington
Six people sitting around a campfire heard a very close, loud two-part vocalization described as whooing/moaning followed after a pause by a booming scream, then heard something moving across the creek. No visual contact was reported. The next day witnesses found a freshly broken/twisted sapling and barefoot-like prints of multiple sizes in a sandy area and made casts of tracks.

The witness was cutting firewood off a mountain road with a companion when she heard a brush snap, then about an hour later heard slow knocking, a soft whistle, and gibberish-like vocalizations from a heavily wooded canyon across the road. The sounds were unfamiliar to her despite being raised in the mountains. She looked into the trees but saw nothing, and a return the next day had no repeat.

Three people hunting near Falls Creek walked a game trail down to the creek to check the area where they had heard sounds the previous year. Along the trail they report many freshly snapped trees and two trees with twisted tops near a creek crossing. Looking back into an inlet, the witness saw a very large two-legged figure standing in tree shadows and swaying side to side before leaving.

While elk hunting, the witness and two companions found a single well-defined human-like footprint near a creek. The print was described as very wide with large distinct toes, no claws, and measuring about 11 inches long. The witness, experienced with bear tracks, judged it was not a bear.

The witness camped alone on a gravel bar along a creek in 2006. Shortly after sunset he heard repeated sets of three loud strikes on trees from the forest to the south that moved between trees for about an hour. About 30 minutes after the strikes ended, a pine cone came from the direction of the forest through the campsite. He left the area the next morning.

A forest trail worker leveling shale heard rocks clacking nearby and shouted and threw a stone while backing toward a vehicle. The witness then saw a dark brown leg and face of a creature leaning under a fir limb about 20 feet away. The witness left to get crew members, who returned but saw nothing and all left the area because they felt spooked.

The witness was camping overnight with a scout troop at a small crescent-shaped lake. After the group settled around 10-11 p.m., a very loud two-part call was heard three or four times from brush in a draw at the north end of the lake, sounding more distant each time. Shortly before dark the witness had noticed a strong musty odor near camp, and the youths in camp reportedly also heard the calls.

The witness and the witness's young child were riding in a family van alongside a river after visiting a mountain when the witness noticed a large hairy biped standing in shallow water near the bank. The creature was facing away and looking down, allowing a clear daylight view of its size and musculature. The driver did not stop for filming and did not see the creature.

The witness was on a solo multi-day backpacking hike near Mount St. Helens. Around midday on the first day, deep whooping calls were heard coming from the canyon direction over about 10-15 minutes. The witness described the tone as unusually deep and resonant and unlike known animal calls.

Two people driving while hunting at sunset saw a large hairy man-like figure running along the road about 30 to 40 yards away. The sighting lasted only a few seconds before the figure disappeared toward a ridge. The driver stopped, got out to search, heard no sound of flight and found no tracks on the hard sandy road.
