The witness and companions were setting off bottle rockets with loud music playing near a river late at night. They heard repeated rising whoop vocalizations that seemed about a mile away and grew louder as they continued. The surrounding forest was described as unusually quiet. Frightened, the group left the area immediately.

Sighting of a bigfoot by a miner

While loading the vehicle to leave, one witness saw a tall brown human-like figure stand up about 15 feet away and walk toward the river. The witness and a companion were fishing separate pools along a river when the companion called him over. They smelled a strong musky odor and then saw a tall, hairy biped standing about 25 yards upslope. The creature walked up and over the hill on two feet while the men felt unable to move, after which they walked back in silence to their third companion.

Two witnesses driving at night saw a large fur-covered animal cross the highway in front of their car and climb a steep bank into the forest. They returned in daylight and found large deep footprints in snow, which they photographed and displayed with a written account. Two companions were camping in separate spots near a river. The companion walking back from a grove heard crashes, a scream, nearby rustling, and breathing but saw nothing moving. From about a half-mile away on a riverbed, the witness heard a very loud scream from the forest to the north believed to be in the same area.

While mountain biking, the witness heard a large animal moving in brush off the trail but could not see it. About 200 yards farther up the trail, the group found very large detailed footprints overlying companions' tracks, which left the trail for a meadow and reappeared crossing the road about half a mile farther on. Coincidentally encountered bear hunters also examined the prints and were unfamiliar with them.

While working alone to clear trail, the witness heard something moving parallel to him downslope for a couple of hours. The footfalls sounded clearly bipedal and the unseen mover easily kept pace through steep, brushy terrain. The witness never saw the source, noticing only moving saplings, and the sounds stopped about half an hour from his truck.

A television crew driving a large RV on a narrow forest road at dusk in rain spotted a figure ahead and filmed it as it walked bipedally across the road in front of them, illuminated by headlights, before disappearing behind a tree. Two witnesses ran outside to try for more footage but conditions were too dark and dense. The investigator later described the videotaped subject as a large, shaggy male figure and reported enhancements showed no sign of costume or effects.

Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.

The witness was sitting outdoors with four companions late at night when a distant loud howl-like sound repeated several times, each lasting about 15 seconds. A second prolonged echoing sound resembling garbled speech then continued for about five minutes. Nearby dogs across the lake began barking after the second sound started.

The witness and three other agents were on a midnight training patrol near a river in heavy fog. They heard a single very loud splash and then quiet shuffling steps moving upstream in shallow water, with coyotes acting strangely and no visible source. They searched with flashlights, found no entering or exiting tracks, and eventually left the area without an explanation.

The witness and a relative were hunting in desert terrain at dawn and found no game. While walking they discovered two side-by-side lines of bare human-like footprints, one very large and one small, pressed deeply into sand. They followed the tracks for some distance to a fenced paved road where the tracks disappeared. The relative left to retrieve a camera from the vehicle but could not locate it, so they walked the road to a nearby town and then back to their vehicle and left without photographs.
