The witness returned to the parked truck after walking dogs uphill on a road. He found a truck door open, then two rocks came from an uphill ridge, one landing in front of the truck and a larger one passing close to him. He heard two low grunts from that direction and later heard brush moving away as he left to get assistance.

The witness was walking to a deer hunting blind before sunrise when he noticed a dark shape lying across the trail in moonlight. When he shone his flashlight on it, the shape rose to vertical, turned away, and walked bipedally into dense vegetation almost silently. He later heard a throat-clearing sound from the thicket and found only disturbed leaves where it had gone.

The witness stepped onto a porch in a remote Appalachian area to listen to coyotes. About a minute after the coyotes stopped, a high-pitched wail or moan in three rising intervals was heard from the next ridge to the east. The witness claims familiarity with regional animal sounds, could not identify the sound, and described it as strange and out of place.

The witness was cleaning and preparing an auction site in the mountains when large barefoot tracks were found that dwarfed the witness's own foot. A few days later around midday a massive dark bipedal figure was seen leaning from behind a tree, was photographed, then left with heavy steps and a foul smell as the phone camera failed. That evening and the next night loud echoing vocalizations and loud bird-like whistles were heard while deer disappeared and the woods went silent.

The witness and a friend camped in a hollow below the family home and jokingly made tree knocks and whoops. Knocks and ape-like whoops answered from multiple ridges and appeared to converse. Later something large circled camp, rushed in, stepped onto the tent tarp, made gorilla-like huffs above the tent, then left, prompting them to flee to the house and return next morning.

The witness and a companion were hiking in a national forest when they stopped to rest and eat. After standing up, they noticed a very large reddish-brown figure standing down the mountainside and watched it for about 90 seconds. The figure then walked away into the trees before they could photograph it. A few minutes earlier they had heard an animal sounding in distress from the same direction.

About a month after moving in August 2014 the witness heard an extremely loud owl-like sound he thought could not be a real owl or person. He later heard rocks clanging, tree beating and movement over the hill. A couple months later he and his cousin heard the owl sound again, this time more like a monkey trying to imitate an owl.

The witness waited on an ATV in a hollow while her companion walked up a ridge to check a trail camera. She heard a single long horn-like yell from ahead in the same hollow that she did not recognize from local wildlife. Her companion, who was out of sight on the ridge, said he did not hear the sound.

Late at night the witness and a relative went outside to check a heavy thud behind the house. They saw a deer run past, then a very tall hair-covered human-like figure approach from the woods. After a shotgun shot was fired toward the treeline, the figure veered closer, stopped nearby, then moved along the treeline into the woods where it remained visible for several minutes. A strong odor was noticed and large footprints were found the next day.

Around 12:30 a.m. they heard distant vocalizations from two different directions, then small stones were thrown toward their picnic table over an extended period while they felt watched. No visual sighting occurred and the witness left later that day.

The witness listened from the deck for about ten minutes as the cries and loud shuffling through dry leaves moved closer and then farther away. Livestock in a nearby field reportedly crowded into the light and stared toward the noise while distant dogs barked.

An adult female-like creature and a smaller juvenile emerged on all fours, then the adult stood, vocalized, and left with the juvenile after a distant reply was heard. The witness remained frozen, then backed out and fled to the truck and gave up hunting afterward.

A large college group camped late at night in a remote, densely wooded rocky area. After midnight they heard large rocks being thrown into and around a nearby stream and loud wailing, howling and grunting sounds that grew closer when the camp was loud and receded when quiet. After confirming all members were present, most of the group left early while about 10-15 stayed quietly until dawn as the sounds grew more distant.

Around May 1970 the witness was camping with family at a lakeside campground and lay awake in a tent near midnight. After hearing trash being disturbed, the witness stepped out barefoot with a flashlight and saw a small upright furry creature looking into a hanging trash bag. The creature turned, made a squeal-grunt cry, and dashed away while the witness ran shouting to wake relatives. No tracks were found afterward because the area was trampled.

They heard a growl, a distant tree fall, and something running around camp that was too fast to pinpoint on thermal, then found X-shaped tree structures without roots. On later visits team members saw a large dark humanoid with a conical head peek from behind a tree, found broken branches, and heard loud peacock-like bird sounds with nothing visible.
