At a rural house on the Oregon coast the household experienced repeated night howls, growls, talking-like sounds, dogs reacting, motion lights, a hand smudge, and large footprints in hard gravel. Young children repeatedly described dark hairy figures with flat noses and red eyes pawing or scratching at a bedroom window, motioning to come outside, and disappearing and reappearing.

Two relatives were bass fishing from a small boat when rocks were thrown toward them. After beaching, one threw rocks back, the creature screamed, stepped out, charged and struck one man hard enough to break ribs and puncture a lung, then threw a log that cut his chin. It reappeared swaying and clicking, then leapt a great distance and ran off on all fours. Authorities and later visitors called it a bear and told them to leave it alone.

The guest camped several days alone with his dog, noticing hairy scat, twisted saplings forming a gate, and feeling watched. On the third night the forest went silent, footsteps approached, loud breathing and an ape-like vocalization occurred outside the tent, followed by exchanged fake owl sounds and a spinning yin-yang light with a brief vision inside the tent. In the morning disturbed dog food was attributed to a raccoon.

The guest went fishing at a beaver pond and was walking home through woods at sunset. He smelled a strong odor, heard movement, then entered a clearing where a large figure stood, grunted, touched his chest, looked him over, then walked past behind him. He returned home shaken, avoided the area, and remains wary in the woods.

The witness, a college volunteer helping with a search-and-rescue in heavy snow, hiked with two companions to a small work cabin atop Mount Macon and spent the night there. During the night something screamed and howled outside and repeatedly struck the heavy door and walls, terrifying the three men inside. By morning it was gone, leaving large indistinct impressions in the snow leading up to the cabin, after which the group hiked out.

The guest, then 11, and an older friend were playing Airsoft in woods near his house. The friend pointed out a brown furry form crouched on a ridge watching them. After the guest whistled it stood to about eight feet, made a gruff noise, looked at them, then turned and walked over the ridge.

The witness climbed about 20-25 feet up a pine on a small peninsula to wait for hogs over bait at dawn. He watched a large dark female figure stalk tree to tree toward the hogs, then leap, scream, knock a hog into an oak and kill it by pounding its side. The creature carried the hog off, exchanged calls with another unseen creature, then scented, located and stared up at the witness before walking away.
