After pulling a pop-up camper into a lakeside clearing at sunset, the witness and his girlfriend noticed the woods go deathly silent. They then heard crashes, a cackle and growl, and something like a steamroller coming through the woods parting the treetops. They threw gear into the camper and drove out without stopping until pavement.

In the middle of the night they were awakened by loud crashing of logs and rocks being hurled in the streambed below. Bipedal footsteps then approached up the slope to behind nearby trees, with heavy breathing heard high in the air and a humph sound after the witness shouted, before the creature walked away parallel to the creek.

On a November 1976 afternoon two young men hunting squirrels walked toward a river when a large hairy biped came up from the river bottom toward them. In 1975 the witness's family living near Spottsville, Kentucky experienced repeated activity over many months. She described hearing loud limb breaks and an elephant-like scream, smelling a dead-like odor, finding footprints, and losing livestock and pets with entrails removed. She twice saw an 8-foot hairy figure on the property, and four armed relatives fired from the roof as the figure ran past a barn and jumped a fence unaffected.
