At close range he described an upright, very large creature with a strong odor that noticed him, grunted, and quickly climbed a hillside and disappeared over a ridge. The witness was walking alone on trails at the preserve in the afternoon and heard a twig snap followed by two gorilla-like grunts near a loop trail. The witness then followed a path through tall grass toward the treeline. The witness was sitting on the front porch late at night when he heard a loud scream at a distance, followed later by crashing brush and a series of loud moans, growls and howls from across the road. He judged the vocalizations as extremely powerful and unlike any known animal and inferred the source was very large. He went inside and locked the doors.

The witness and his girlfriend were camped on the east side of Wheatfields Lake with relatives, awake in their tent caring for a child before dawn. They heard loud low roars from near the west side campground repeated 5-6 times for about 10 seconds each, followed by dogs barking, then one more call about 30 minutes later. The witness stayed awake while the others slept, and companions in camp said the next morning they had not heard the calls.

The witness was alone by his parked car late at night after mountain biking. He heard very loud whoops exchanged back and forth for about ten seconds, followed by two sharp whistles, then silence. He waited and checked nearby trailheads but found no other people or vehicles.

The witness and a relative were fishing at a lake in the early morning when they heard a series of unusual sounds from the woods. The sounds progressed from owl-like hoots to monkey-like chatter, then to repeated loud low screams or deep howls, followed by dog-like barking and yelping. They also heard what sounded like large rocks splashing into the water at a distance. Feeling increasingly uneasy, they left the area a short time later.

While fishing alone early one morning the guest playfully made whoop sounds. A short time later something crashed loudly through thick brush toward his point, paced back and forth just out of sight, made huffing sounds, then walked away bipedally. He backed his boat off the bank and was left stunned.
Kayakers describe rock throwing near island on Keystone Lake
Three people camped on an island area at Keystone Lake and heard repeated grunting and howl-like vocalizations after midnight. After two people kayaked back to the cars and two returned, the two in kayaks had two very large rocks land in the water near them as they approached shore in darkness. One had earlier seen green eyeshine near the campsite on the first return. Finding no other people on the island, they packed up and left during the night.

The witness and his sister were waiting at a rarely used roadside bus stop before sunrise when they smelled a foul odor and heard low grunting that grew louder and more aggressive. A large dark-brown figure then knocked over a small dead tree across the road and ran toward them. Both fled a short distance to their house, with the figure closing to within a few feet before continuing into the woods.

Both fled toward a fence as the witness glimpsed a huge bipedal figure through the trees and heard a low gurgling exhale.

A grayish two-legged figure then ran quickly across a field with long strides and dropped behind vegetation. Shortly after, metal clanking was heard and lawn furniture was found displaced.

They later heard a very large animal moving away breaking branches, found no sign after sunrise, and left to hunt elsewhere.
