The pair fled down a trail toward camp, and the witness looked back to see a large hair-covered arm and hand reaching out of the brush right behind him before it disappeared. The next day they returned and found indistinct tracks in soft dirt at the bottom of the cliff face.

Near Christmas 1980 the witness was riding a snowmobile with a relative on a forest trail at night when they got stuck. Both smelled a strong rotten-meat odor and then the witness saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about six feet tall run across the trail into the bush. A parent who arrived later saw the remaining marks and told the witness the figure was a sasquatch.

In the afternoon two members heard heavy movement circling in brush, and one moved closer and watched part of a tall dark figure step from behind a tree. The witness was squirrel hunting in a small farm woodlot on a sunny mid-morning when noisy birds in the underbrush drew attention. At a bend in a lane the witness saw a tall reddish-brown hairy biped standing off the trail about 25 yards away and they stared at each other without moving. After a standoff the creature raked berries from a shrub and ate them while glancing between the shrub and the witness. The witness slowly backed away out of sight, then walked fast and ran from the woodlot.

The witness waited in a parked car in an open farm field at dusk while a companion hunted nearby. After the companion returned uneasy to the car, both looked toward a large oak tree ahead. The witness saw two small dark hair-covered figures moving and climbing around the tree; one came down, moved behind the trunk, then peered out and stood upright looking toward the car. Frightened, the pair left immediately and drove home instead of staying overnight.

In the summer of 1979 or 1980, the witness was fly fishing at a lake near Mt. Jupiter while camping with a companion. He noticed in peripheral vision a reddish-brown figure moving around a recently vacated campsite and then striding rapidly into the woods. He realized afterward the stride and arm swing seemed unusual and compared it to the Patterson film he had seen earlier. He and his companion later checked the rocky campsite but found no tracks.

A short distance later they smelled a strong wet-dog odor and the reporter saw a tall creature at close range with shining eyes. The group fled to their dorm, later drove back for another look without approaching closely, and the reporter retrieved dropped groceries the next day.

At a youth camp at night, the witness was inside a dorm getting ready for bed when campers in another dorm shouted about someone outside. Minutes later the witness watched a figure near a dumpster walk toward the dorm and peer in through a window from about 12 feet away for 20 to 30 seconds before disappearing. The next morning a discarded box was found on the ground with large footprints nearby.

The figure moved quickly from one side to the other in long, smooth strides without looking toward the car and disappeared into a field. The witness turned back to look with bright lights but saw nothing, and a search the next day found no tracks because the ground was wet and muddy.
