The witness and four companions were parked on a dirt road at dusk trying to find a way out of the area. They heard a commotion in nearby woods suggesting something large approaching. As it got closer they saw a large upright humanoid form that did not respond to yelling, and all five fled in panic.

About two decades ago a woman washing dishes at night saw a large hairy-faced man looking through the window above her sink. Police were called and during the subsequent search an officer saw a tall man-like figure run across a highway. Very large tracks with a long stride were found but dogs could not track anything and the figure vanished into river bottoms. A later visitor examined a cast and said weight distribution argued against a fake shoe.

The guest, then 12 to 14, went with his younger cousin down a hill to a creek behind the family house. About 25 to 30 feet away they saw a grayish-white bony creature sitting at the water's edge with its hand possibly in the creek. When it began to turn, they ran back to the house and told their parents, who suggested a big dog.

The witness reports a large hairy thing that walks along the San Juan River onto the reservation and is known to local residents. The thing is said to smell strongly, make loud noises that set dogs howling, and appear every few years near the witness home about an eighth-mile from the river. In November 1995 the witness stood alone at night in Chautauqua Park overlooking the city lights when a rustling sound drew attention to a large hairy human-like silhouette about 30 meters away. The figure reportedly watched briefly, then ran with a hunched-over loping gait toward tree cover and disappeared behind a tree. The witness considered it a possible bigfoot sighting.

The witness arrived before dawn to hunt deer from a tree stand on a wooded base. Around sunrise a small black furry animal about three feet tall near the tree stood up on two legs, then dropped to all fours and ran toward cover, disappearing silently. The witness left the area without examining the ground and later interpreted the animal as a young Sasquatch.

While hunting, the witness saw an elk flee followed by a large dark-brownish animal running about 50 feet beyond it at roughly 300 feet distance, observed briefly through a rifle scope. The witness later found bent grass and a single partial footprint with three toes at the base of an old tree where the animal had run. Three nearby hunters said they saw nothing.

Two people camping near a ravine heard rhythmic steps and saw a pair of large, long black-haired legs walking across the slope about 30 yards away. The companion moved closer but dense trees prevented a view of the full figure. After relocating their tent near other campers, both were awakened around 3 a.m. by heavy pounding nearby followed by three high shrill screams.

The witness was driving at night near a railroad crossing when he noticed a very large, light-colored, hair-covered creature walking along the road with its back toward him. As he drove closer and passed it, he screamed in terror while the creature continued walking without reacting. He stopped briefly at an intersection, feeling panicked and highly agitated, but did not look back at the creature's face.

Two companions were fishing from an anchored boat at dusk near a cattail-lined bank where they had previously found prints. One pointed out a tall, black, large-built figure standing above the 6- to 7-foot cattails downriver. The figure stood briefly, then stepped back and walked away into the woods through a channel, and the witnesses chose not to follow.

The witness and a friend were sitting on a forest trail near a small lake during the day when they noticed a foul odor. The friend gave a warning and fled, and the witness then saw a large furry biped running across the trail, seen from the waist down, before it disappeared into the woods. A couple driving home at dusk saw a tall dark two-legged figure appear directly in front of their car on M-156. The figure crossed the road extremely fast in a few steps and disappeared to the east, leaving them shaken and surprised they had not hit it. An oncoming car also stopped, but the couple never spoke with its occupant.

While fishing alone from a boat in a cove in darkness, something struck the boat motor like a rock and splashed. The witness turned to see a large figure moving on the distant bank, possibly the thrower, but could not prove its identity.

While riding a motorcycle toward Canada the witness stopped at a highway pull-off to urinate and walked a short distance into level woods. He smelled a strong musk he recognized from earlier years and then made eye contact with a small young hair-covered creature peering over a log. The young one ducked quickly out of sight. The witness backed out without approaching further because he had left his sidearm at the bike.
