In mid-summer 1975 around midnight, the witness and three companions were wading the Olentangy River when they heard breaking brush and saw a tall hair-covered biped at the tree line. The figure followed them downstream as they moved, and they heard heavy movement in the water and a howl as they fled to a nearby apartment complex. At the woods edge near the apartments it stopped and stared at them before they ran toward town and abandoned their gear for two days.

About eight feet away a dark hairy female creature growled, was squatted down, then stood up to about eight feet tall. The sister grabbed the witness and they ran back to the family house.
