After the call he heard a noise and saw a large hairy human-shaped figure about 60 feet away walking up a slight incline. He watched for about five seconds, noted it lacked a bear-like snout, then ran back to the tent to tell his companions.

The next morning the family found large barefoot-like tracks in snow leading from the driveway around the house and over a fence, which they followed for about half a mile and photographed beside a size 14 shoe.
