A woman driving east in daylight saw a tall black-haired upright figure cross the two-lane highway in front of her and disappear into brush on the other side. She stopped, locked her doors, waited, then drove to the crossing point and searched but could not locate where it entered the brush. She said it was too big to be human and took very long strides.

In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

The witness, then a teenager, was riding with his brother and a friend in an old pickup checking irrigation on his father's walnut ranch when they spotted a tall hairy biped moving through the orchard. They chased it by farm roads as it ran uphill diagonally across a 40-acre block, stopped to watch it pass close by, then followed it across more blocks until it crossed a road and disappeared into dense brush on a neighboring property. Afterwards they inspected its long strides in wet ground and decided not to tell his father for fear of losing their irrigation job.

The witness was waiting on a large boulder while companions attempted to flush deer toward a clearing under utility lines. The witness reported seeing a tall, sandy-brown apelike creature walk down a ridge and cross the utility road about 40 yards away. The witness's dog chased the creature barking into the trees and returned about an hour and a half later. The witness remained still, did not shoot, and said the creature did not appear to notice them.

The witness was six years old and riding in the back of a bus at night with family. After the driver reboarded saying a big ape had almost gotten him, the bus started moving and the witness and a relative watched a large ape-like figure cross the highway behind the bus and enter the woods on the other side. A man hunting small game claimed a tall, fully hairy figure walked across a dirt road near Skilak Lake. The figure paused, looked in his direction appearing surprised, then left swiftly into the woods. The witness watched from a few hundred yards away in daylight, loaded his shotgun because he was unsure of intent, and later chose not to tell authorities for fear of disbelief.

The witness was driving on Route 95 through forested wilderness in early evening daylight. A large, dark, hairy creature crossed the southbound lanes from the treed median to the woods, moving swiftly, smoothly and fully erect. The witness stopped the car and looked into the woods where it went but saw no further trace. Three companions in the car were dozing and did not see it.

Two occupants driving slowly on a wooded road at night saw an animal enter the roadway on all fours about 40 to 50 yards ahead. The animal turned its head toward the vehicle, showing red eyes, then continued across the road. When the car reached the crossing point, the occupants saw a tall, large silhouette standing motionless beside the road. They became frightened and drove quickly to a house.

The witness was driving at night with a companion when an erect, hair-covered creature crossed the highway in front of the vehicle. The driver braked and alerted the companion, who saw only a brief glimpse as it entered dense woods. The driver searched the crossing point with a flashlight but found no tracks or other sign.

The reporter states that in the late 1970s her father was driving a school bus early in the morning when a large hair-covered man- and ape-like creature came down a deer path.
