Around 2 a.m. the witness sat in a car on a road across from a state park when an entity with long arms and reddish-appearing hair walked up the roadside, crossed the street and yards, and entered the woods under a streetlight. An outdoor dog that normally barked remained silent. About two hours later a sheriff drove up and down the road shining a spotlight, which the witness speculated was a search after someone else reported something.

A figure approached the vehicle from the passenger side to within a few feet, appearing curious and focused on the inside of the vehicle, then crossed the road. The reporter and his wife saw a large animal cross the road ahead in the headlights and disappear into the trees. The wife, who had clearer vision, described it as monkey-like, heavy-set, with light brown hair, walking slowly and casually on two legs without looking at the car.

The companions were facing the opposite direction and did not see it, suggesting a cow or deer, but the witness remained convinced it was bipedal and erect.
