Alone up a river the witness followed a fresh game trail past a foul-smelling marked tree, then heard a loud scream below and movement above in thick jungle. He retreated into the creek as three creatures surrounded him, talking with clicks, showing dog-like eyeshine, and moving as shadows. In the last light one four-and-a-half to five-foot silhouette with long arms squatted at the water's edge staring before bolting when a laser pointer hit it, and he floated downstream to camp.

While driving an old forestry road the witness felt uneasy and stopped after spotting footprints up the middle of the clay road. He entered dense regrowth with a bush knife, camera and GPS after hearing a monkey-like noise, smelling a strong urine-like animal odor, and sensing being watched. The unseen animal crashed away through bamboo and he returned to the car.

While walking a dark cat road to a grouse spot the witness was hit by a powerful rotting stench. He loaded a slug expecting a bear, then a large log rolled down at him and something big crashed through brush across the hill. He hurried back to his motorcycle and left.
