The son left a family barbecue to hunt nearby and ran back reporting a tall, dark, hairy biped stepping over a wire fence about 100 yards from camp. Three relatives went to the spot minutes later and found pressed-down grass but no clear prints. They noted a strong pungent odor that lingered, but the creature had left the area.

While examining the carcass they reported a feeling of being watched and a strong odor described as wet dog mixed with rotting garbage. As they walked back to the vehicle near dark they heard something moving parallel in the undergrowth, then heard a loud scream from very close range, prompting them to fumble with their unloaded guns and leave quickly.

The witness looked and saw a large dark upright figure pass by while neighborhood dogs became agitated and a foul skunk-like odor was present. They made eye contact, the creature turned its head and torso showing long arm hair, then walked quickly away. The witness left the area and told no one for a couple days.

One man got into their truck while the other backed onto the hood with a knife, and they later spent a sleepless night guarding the cabin door.

Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.

As a boy riding his bicycle home on a trail through the woods on a hot clear afternoon, the witness felt watched and then heard brush thrashing as something kept pace with him. He raced to a more open trail and looked back to see a very tall, shaggy reddish-brown creature with dark bare facial skin standing at the tree line watching him. He reported a horrible stench filling the air and an absence of normal forest sounds, saying the sighting lasted about half a minute and left him avoiding the woods for months.

The parallel movement stopped where the woods ended at the edge of the witness's property. A later search by truck found where something had been, but the creature was never seen.
