That night the witness and a relative used an electronic predator call at the bottom of a wooded U-shaped valley; after an accidental loud blast something crashed loudly through the valley. Back at the camper overnight, the witness's father heard repeated knocking all around the camper walls and assumed the younger men were locked out.

After a child's whoops received an immediate whoop reply nearby, two adults who stayed behind briefly heard something approach closely then step away, seeing nothing with lights. The witness camped alone for several nights using a thermal imager. On the fourth night an object was thrown near the tent, then a heat signature was seen peeking over brush along a trail. The witness found a large human-like footprint on a muddy curve and returned with a camera and casting supplies to document it. While making the cast, nearby bushes rustled violently and the top of a small tree snapped off and fell near the road, followed by several whinny-like vocalizations from the woods. Days later the witness believed an outline of a figure appeared in one photo and reported being followed on later visits to check for more prints.

While bowhunting from a tree stand, the witness heard loud high-pitched shrieking and saw brush shaking as an unseen animal moved through thick briars. A hunting companion positioned below reportedly saw the animal on two legs and described it as apelike. Both left the area out of fear and did not return.

Around 1975, the witness and a companion were returning to their vehicle after checking a trap line near Horicon Marsh. From about 80 yards away on a hilltop they heard heavy movement and smelled an overpowering rotten-egg sulphur odor. They felt a fight-or-flight response, left quickly, and stayed away from the trap line for some time.

Around 1:35 am tent occupants woke to a raccoon on the table and heard movement around camp while the camper occupant heard something large walking in woods behind camp that left after the raccoon was scared off.

While driving past a mowed field the witness noticed an unusually large dark stump where no stump was known to exist. After passing, the witness stopped and backed up within seconds. The shape was gone, inferred to have moved quickly into nearby kettle woods.

On several later visits to check the road for prints, the witness says the same creature followed him and crossed the road at three stream-adjacent spots, with no castable prints found.

The witness was driving home alone on Afton Road after first getting his license. A single yellowish light followed him, closed very fast, filled his rear window, then appeared to jump into the vehicle and flood the interior with blinding white light before vanishing. He continued home with no further effects.

The witness and his young son went squirrel hunting in a public forest reached through a swamp. On the trail back they heard loud bipedal footsteps, heavy raspy breathing, and a powerful growl from very close range but saw nothing despite sparse cover. The unseen presence paced them for about a hundred yards, then growled again and ran toward them through the swamp as they reached the truck and left.
