The witness and a relative were fishing and camping in a narrow willow canyon at dusk and noticed unusual silence and a feeling of being watched. While sitting by a fire, the companion stared toward the road and the witness then saw a tall dark hairy face peering through willows about 30-40 feet away. The figure then crashed through the creek and willows up the hillside out of sight, after which the pair left hastily.

A young man and friends had two consecutive night encounters with an unknown creature
In February 1977 five youths camped in two VW buses at a remote, densely forested campground in the Trinity Alps. On two consecutive nights around 10:30 p.m., something rushed down the steep hill behind camp and violently rocked the bus the witness slept in. The first morning packs were found strewn and torn open; the second night a large boulder was found wedged behind the bus tire and the other bus had shifted about five feet toward the river. The group reported seeing nothing because windows were iced over, noting only hillside skid marks, rushing noises, and a brief strong odor before leaving early.

The sounds lasted about 30 seconds and were interpreted as a biped moving quickly, apparently pursued by barking dogs. After the crashing stopped, a dog was heard yelping as if badly injured, then silence fell. The next morning the witness found broken vegetation but no clear sign of its cause and moved camp.
College students get approached by sasquatch and shoot at it
Four college geology students camping at night heard howling from a canyon and then saw the outline of a huge bipedal animal on the road in moon and campfire light. When the animal approached, one student fired a rifle several times, after which it crossed the road and moved noisily up the opposite slope through brush. A responding deputy examined the area the next day and reported indistinct impressions, small pushed-over trees and long uphill strides, but no blood or fur.

A group camping by a lake at night heard animal sounds go quiet followed by a very loud vocalization that rose from low to a high shrill pitch. Other campers from near the mountain came down the trail with their gear to leave, saying the scream had been right by them and they had seen something run toward and past the witness camp. The witness group did not see anything but noticed a strong dirty or wet dog smell after leaving their tents and waited until daylight to leave.

The teller and companions camped in a marshy cedar area after being asked to watch for activity. One man bedded down in a canvas pitcher tent and said a large hand reached under and dragged him. They found large human-like tracks and a knee impression behind the tent, then heard distant screams and circling sounds through the night while keeping up a large fire.

Around 1975, the witness and a companion were returning to their vehicle after checking a trap line near Horicon Marsh. From about 80 yards away on a hilltop they heard heavy movement and smelled an overpowering rotten-egg sulphur odor. They heard grunting and movement in bushes beside a large tree and saw a large black-brown human-like figure near the tree. He heard loud, strange voices approaching rapidly through dense brush, smelled a strong foul odor, and sensed something large vault over the truck. He then saw a large dark shape moving away into the treeline while vocalizing, then drove away.

A couple days later in the same Idaho hunt, the group drove before dawn in snow and watched a dark stump-like shape widen and slide slowly across the road out of headlight range. Later that day they found giant five-toed tracks circling their parked vehicle, and the passenger who checked the roadside with a flashlight claimed it was a hooded hunter on horseback.
