The witness was solo hammock camping when he heard a duck or goose mauled with splashing, then movement around him in the dark. A loud grunt from up high that felt like it went through him frightened him. He packed up and left the woods that night.

The guest and his then-wife were walking near Notice Creek in Bluff Creek in the late afternoon. They heard slow footsteps in the forest duff approaching below them, then a loud crack and saw a tall tree shake violently. Frightened by the display of strength, they retreated to look from a bridge and later heard the footsteps leaving quickly.

As teenagers the witness and friends camped and hiked up a reputedly haunted mountain at night to look for a cabin. They were paralleled on both sides, heard whoops and powerful wood knocks and branches being ripped, then a large tree was pushed over close to them and they fled. After midnight they heard branching breaking and multiple bipedal-sounding runners circling camp in the dark, fired rifles without effect, found the dog terrified in the tent and felt something touch a tent, then saw large shadows in firelight. They packed out carrying the dog while being followed down the trail, with one silent individual flushing very close, until reaching the car.

While walking back, distinct bipedal footsteps followed, stopping and starting with the witness and moving fluidly through dense trees. In darkness the witness walked a logging path to his tree stand while two sets of eyeshine paralleled him side-by-side for a long distance. When he switched on white light at about 15 feet the eyes rose to about seven feet with a bark-like grunt, then vanished. From the stand he watched one taller and one smaller eyeshine peek from behind a tree until a neighbor's vehicle lights approached, when they crashed away loudly through the woods.

The witness describes being followed on multiple walks along a road where something above on the cliff moved when they moved and stopped when they stopped. On one walk a friend accompanied him and also heard it, confirming it was not imagined. They could not see over the edge to identify what made the sounds.

The witness and friends walked into dark woods and heard deep snorting or grunting that sounded like a bull but seemed impossible among close trees. As they ran toward their campfire, the unseen animal pursued them, its steps shaking the ground, until they reached the fire and left.

The writer had recently moved to Whitehall and was lying in bed when he began crying uncontrollably. A door slammed open and heavy footsteps and furniture movement were heard downstairs, then something came up the stairs. He waited with a bat and confronted a huge black outline with glowing red eyes that seemed to enjoy his fear before leaving.
