As a 12-year-old walking a lane at night, the witness heard something following on a ridge that stopped when he stopped. He saw something looking back at him and thought he saw red eyes. He ran to his grandmother's house and his father suggested it was probably a Sasquatch.

The young witness sat against a large maple at dawn on opening morning while deer ran past. A huge hairy biped stood behind the tree with its hand on the trunk, growled with a low vibration, then chased after the deer at great speed. The witness soiled himself, vomited and left with his father, who also saw the creature and warned him never to tell.

Just after sunrise while camping beside a river, the witness and a companion heard breaking and crashing sounds moving through dense forest toward their tent. Heavy, slow footsteps approached to within a few feet behind the tent, paused, then moved away. The witness briefly followed on foot but saw nothing in the dense woods, and later found several small trees snapped or pushed over beyond a tangle of large fallen logs.

The witness spent a winter night sleeping on a couch in an unfinished hillside cabin while two dogs slept nearby. During the night a large-sounding movement was heard outside that agitated the dogs for about fifteen minutes, but the witness did not look outside. The next morning the witness found a line of large five-toed footprints in snow that appeared to pass the cabin, step over a barbed-wire fence, and jump a creek before continuing uphill, but heavy snow later covered them.

He then saw two trees being violently shaken and briefly saw a hairy left arm and shoulder between trees. A child playing a night game ran behind a maintenance shed and heard gravel move. About ten feet away, a huge dark figure crouched at chained garbage cans rose smoothly to stand very tall. The witness fled to tell adults, who suggested it was a bear or a person watching the children.

A group gathered around a late-night bonfire at a rural ranch heard an extremely loud screeching howl from a nearby canyon and heard brush breaking as something large approached. The group fled to the house, and the witness briefly left her young child outside before going back to retrieve her. The child later said a very big, very hairy figure walked up to her, looked at her, and then walked away.
Footsteps in California (1978)
While on leave and hiking toward Yosemite Falls, the witness slept in a mummy bag without a tent. After dark something approached on two feet and repeatedly pushed the bag with what felt like fingers and knuckles, then walked away. The witness waited, looked around, and saw nothing.

The witness was alone in the dark near the site of the first sighting. He saw the full silhouette of a large figure standing in moonlight about 30 to 40 feet away. It made a low mumbled sound, then turned and splashed across the creek, and he ran to the house.

The witness was sleeping alone in a mobile home on a timbered property at night. They were awakened by loud, heavy bipedal footsteps circling the home on pine needles and remained in bed with a rifle out of fear. After a time the footsteps left, and the witness fell back asleep until morning without seeing what made them.

The witness and two relatives were playing poker inside a hunting cabin at night when a loud bang struck the side door followed by an unfamiliar loud scream-howl from outside. They armed themselves and opened the door with flashlights but saw nothing, only hearing something walk away into the woods and smelling a wet-dog-like odor. They chose not to follow it.

That night after snowfall the witness heard something moving around the tent, and the next morning huge tracks were found circling the tent.

The witness arrived before sunrise on opening day to bow-hunt from a tree stand at the edge of a bean field. While in the stand the witness heard loud bipedal footsteps moving through dense saplings and then saw a tall hair-covered figure standing about 20 yards away. The two stared at each other for several minutes before the figure walked away, after which the witness fled to a companion's vehicle and did not return.

Late one night the witness and his father turned on yard floodlights to shoot rabbits. The witness saw a stocky fur-covered biped rise from a crouch near the treeline about 30 yards away and stride rapidly into the pine forest with its head tilted to the left. The father, facing the opposite way, only heard loud crashing exit sounds, and both later heard distant hunting dogs barking in an unusually agitated way.

He was frightened and hid, and a next-day search found no tracks.

In 1977 two companions hunting frogs at a remote pond heard a roar and saw trees moving. One saw a large brown hairy form partly hidden behind a cedar tree and swaying. Both fled on foot while hearing heavy thuds, and one saw a large rock bouncing nearby. A few days later they returned and found a cleared limb bed and a limb torn from a mesquite tree, but no footprints due to rocky ground.

Two people fishing at night from a riverbank shined a flashlight across the water and saw red eyes and a large dark body in overhanging limbs. The animal stood upright, waded toward them with loud splashing steps, then turned downriver continuing to walk bipedally while making a low guttural sound. The witnesses retreated to a nearby campground where the splashing remained audible and a dog was heard howling.
