The witness and companions were camping on a hilltop overlooking a valley and creek. Late at night the witness heard heavy bipedal steps climb a steep slope, stop, then run into the forest, sounds the companions also heard. About two hours later the group heard a single very loud scream that briefly silenced forest sounds. Around 2 or 3 AM a companion awoke to see a large arm reaching through the van window for food, and food was found missing and spilled, with gouges seen on the slope the next morning.

There he encountered a tall, hair-covered figure pulling at the pen wire, which turned to face him before fleeing toward the forest. A relative who ran outside also saw the figure running away. The witness described two large males standing motionless, a thin female with a hump who vocalized and wrung her hands, and a smaller child-sized figure, before the light faded and the pair left the area to finish work later.

Through the tent screen the witness saw a tall, dark, hair-covered bipedal silhouette standing a short distance away, which stood still briefly before turning and walking away toward a field out of view. The witness and companions were camping and sitting around a campfire at night when they heard a very loud, unfamiliar scream-like sound from the woods below camp. They listened for about 25 minutes as the sound circled the camp while hearing something large moving through brush. No visual sighting was made, and the group only jokingly suggested Bigfoot at the time.

The witness was sleeping outside on the fringe of a large group camp in a remote pine forest when awakened around 1:30 a.m. by a loud, unfamiliar scream and sounds of a large animal moving through brush within about 20 yards. Too frightened to look, the witness hid in a sleeping bag. A similar scream was heard again one to two hours later farther off, and other campers also reported hearing the wails.

As they walked toward the sound, they heard crashing and saw a large, hunched, hairy human-like figure run past about 10 feet away down the mountainside. They were too shocked and scared in the fading light to follow it.

A dark hairy figure reportedly ran upright from behind a tree very fast, making a high-pitched noise with loud thumping footsteps. The witness went to the front door with a pistol and flashlight and saw a large figure crouched in tall grass outside a hot-wire fence. The figure then stood on two legs and ran bipedally along the fence while the witness tracked it briefly before retreating inside. A later search of the area found only disturbed grass and no footprints.

The witness was driving home late at night when a large manlike entity crossed the two-lane road in front of the vehicle in a few fast, smooth steps and disappeared into trees on the far side. The witness stopped, noting no other vehicles or people around, and heard it crashing through brush. The next morning the witness found a path of broken brush and trampled grass where it had crossed but no tracks.

As they rowed closer the shape stood upright to about seven feet, looked toward them, turned toward a twig-snapping sound behind it, then spun and ran into the forest with further movement sounds heard. After waiting in the canoe, they paddled ashore and found two obscured marks in the sand where it had turned.

The witness hiked alone on a forested trail in eastern Tennessee. He noticed a shadow and heard loud bipedal footsteps that circled and then followed him. When he stopped the steps stopped, and when he ran the steps stayed close. He left the trail without ever seeing what made the sounds.
