The witness was standing in the yard at night when a hooting howl was heard from the treeline. Dogs ran toward the woods barking as brush and limbs thrashed along the edge and heavy thumping footsteps were heard. The witness followed the sounds along the treeline with a rifle before returning to the house and confirming a relative next door had not left home. The witness interpreted the sounds and movement as a sasquatch disturbed in the woods.

A semi-truck driver pulled over at a desert highway pullout at night and got out of the truck. He heard rocks falling, noticed a strong decaying odor that became gagging, and saw a large hairy biped cross the road in front of his headlights while making a loud grunt. Afterward the witness left quickly and learned a hunting companion nearby had heard movement but seen nothing, and checkout staff said no other hunters were in the area.

The witness was sitting in a tree stand hunting elk in the late afternoon when the wind shifted. He heard brush breaking as an unseen animal approached on a trail, stopped, then circled 50-60 yards away out of sight while emitting repeated loud rising whoops. After the sounds stopped he climbed down, glassed the area without seeing anything, and later left apples on a stump that were gone when he retrieved the stand.

The witness and a companion hiked in and camped for the night near a creek. Around midnight while drifting to sleep, the witness heard a large heavy bipedal source splashing across the deep creek, walking with pauses for about a minute. The companion did not hear anything.

Two companions were fishing from a boat close to shore late at night. They heard heavy two-legged footsteps coming down a wooded hillside and then rushing toward them as they prepared to leave. The unseen source entered the water behind them while emitting a loud snarl and growl neither companion recognized. They left without seeing the source and did not return to investigate.

The witness was on an early spring morning walk along a two-track through swampy woods when she heard movement and saw a large white figure moving quickly away about 50 yards away through dense undergrowth. She followed it visually for some distance and noted its rapid movement and swinging arms. The next day she returned to the same area and found very large footprints with only three toes visible and widely spaced, which she interpreted as confirming the figure was not a human.

Two 13-year-olds were playing outside in front of a house on a snowy winter night when they saw a tall, hair-covered biped running along the side of the road about 50 feet away under a streetlight. They described it as 7 to 9 feet tall, covered head to toe in fur, and running faster than anything they had seen. After it ran out of sight, they ran inside to tell an adult, who did not believe them, and they stayed inside because they were frightened.

In April 1999 the witness and family were gathered around a campfire at night near a stream in the Tushar Mountains when they heard loud branch-breaking from the woods across the stream for several minutes. The sounds were followed by a human-like screaming cry that sent several children running to a nearby cabin. The witness, described as an avid hunter, said the cry matched no known local animal and thought a human prank was possible but unlikely.

Around 2001 the witness and a companion hiked Heather Lake Trail in the late afternoon as the last hikers on the trail. While taking turns stepping away to urinate near the top, each had a rock thrown at them from an unseen source. As they hurried and then ran back down, they heard heavy stomping and breaking branches moving parallel to them, and another rock was thrown after they briefly hid behind a tree, prompting them to flee to their car frightened.

On the final evening he heard a loud knock then prolonged screaming directed at him and footsteps circling behind him. A creature stuck its head through brush 20 yards away and stared at him until his father's vehicle approached, when it ran off screaming. He fled, was physically ill for days, and avoided deep woods afterward.

A solo backpacker camped overnight at the Mud Springs hunter camp. Around 10:30 p.m. he was awakened by a loud branch snap followed by heavy vibrating footsteps passing very close to his tent. His nested cook pots were then heard clanging and later found unnested and spread out. After finding a long hair on his backpack Velcro he broke camp and drove to Red Bluff.

The figure sniffed the air, stared at him, then took steps toward him before turning off the trail into the woods. The witness backed away and listened as it walked away without crashing through brush.

The witness pulled over on a roadside near woods, a creek and a lake for night fishing and stepped a short distance into the woods. He heard heavy footsteps moving through leaves toward him that seemed bipedal and too heavy for a dog, and the sounds paused when he paused and then rushed as he reached his truck. After driving away, he saw a large dark upright figure standing in the road behind him in his rearview mirror.

The witness traveled to woods near Eagle Lake to camp overnight and listen for unusual sounds. In the afternoon he found elongated foot-like impressions, including one 12-inch print with four toes. After dark from a tree stand he heard repeated wood-on-wood strikes, a tree falling without cracking, footsteps uphill out of sight, and prolonged human-like hooting from multiple directions, followed by hours of silence. He left on foot around 3 a.m. without further incident.

Around 3:30 a.m. he shone a flashlight into the woods and saw a 7-foot-tall furry figure about 50 feet away with its back turned. After about a minute and a half the figure crouched defensively, and when the witness returned with a gun it was gone and no footprints were found.

Three researchers camped in a remote timbered drainage in early August 1998 to study suspected sasquatch activity. Over two afternoons they heard loud primate-like calls and screams around camp, and during two nights they heard conversational vocalizations, rhythmic rock-clicking, and stealthy footfalls that alarmed horses. They also detected red eyeshine and later found a fresh animal bed overlooking the camp. They left early, concluding no conclusive evidence was obtained but the area warranted further investigation.

The source moved rapidly uphill, climbed a steep cliff to the ledge, and ran past her toward the peak above, pausing briefly to look toward her. It then vocalized from the top of the peak until near sunrise, and she left the area at first light.

Three people camping while bear hunting heard loud howls and screams from the treeline surrounding their camp at night. The sounds appeared to circle the camp and continued despite banging pots and pans and firing a shotgun into the air. The group packed up and waited in their truck until about 4 a.m. while the sounds persisted, then left. They later found openly left food untouched and found no tracks.
Couple has early evening encounter at home near Forsyth
Late one summer evening in 1998, a couple lying in bed in their trailer heard repeated loud screams and their dogs became highly agitated. The husband went outside with a flashlight and saw red-orange eyeshine well above normal human face height, then a tall upright shadow running toward the southwest. No further screams occurred and the dogs stayed agitated for 10-15 minutes. The couple decided not to call emergency services.
