The witness was riding horseback along a dirt road on a hillside in the afternoon when the horse shied sideways. She heard two heavy footsteps and vegetation being trampled close to the road. She then glimpsed a large white hairy figure moving quickly through the brush, only partly visible, before the sounds and figure disappeared suddenly.
Campers driven off mountain by unseen intruders
Three campers were around a late-night campfire when they heard repeated series of deep two-tone howls from hills to the north and south and a loud tree-impact sound. One source of howls moved from about 100 yards west to about 50 yards in the treeline, appearing to exchange calls with a distant source while crashing through brush toward camp. Alarmed, the group packed under guard and drove out, hearing the howls again from about a mile behind them. They later interpreted the incident as possibly involving three large communicating beings.

A couple walking on a gated two-track trail near the Trinity River at dusk claimed a rusty-red upright figure about six feet tall leapt across the trail about 40 yards ahead and disappeared into the woods in under a second. They ran to the crossing point and reported hearing it continue running through the woods, flushing birds, and the primary witness smelled a strong musky odor. They found no tracks but noted a clump of freshly uprooted trees nearby.

The witness was spending time with horses in a fenced pasture next to extensive woods when movement in brush near the barn drew attention and the horses ran toward the house. Thinking the partly obscured shape outside the fence might be a horse, the witness walked toward it and then saw a tall upright figure covered in reddish hair that grunted, looked at the witness, then pushed through small trees and brush leaving the area with loud heavy footsteps. The witness ran to the house and told relatives who were inside.

After turning on lights, shouting, and checking outside with a flashlight revealed nothing and the steps repeatedly resumed, the family left for a town parking lot. The witness drove to an abandoned homestead to take sunset photographs. While walking back to the truck through knee-deep snow he heard twigs snapping and footsteps running through thick woods alongside him. He ran to the truck, heard a deep elk-like grunt, and saw pines shaking with snow falling off as he left. He returned two weeks later and found snapped-off saplings.

The witness and a companion were anchored in a boat at night hearing loud bipedal footsteps approach through riverside woods. He switched on bright boat headlights and saw a very large, dark, hairy ape- and human-like figure at the tree line about 20 to 30 feet away that looked shocked and tried to hide behind a cottonwood. The witness panicked, pulled anchor and fled, later revisiting to estimate the figure was at least a foot to a foot and a half taller than himself with massive girth.

After midnight the witness, sleeping in a cabin bedroom, was awakened by vibration and the sense of someone walking on the porch. Looking toward the porch light through a window about twenty feet away, the witness watched a hair-covered figure with its back turned, which then turned, looked toward the window and leaned to peer inside before jumping off the six- to eight-foot-high porch. The witness kept watching in fear and did not tell others or search for traces in the morning.

The witness and three companions took a late-night winter walk on game and recreational trails in the woods. On the way back they heard footsteps and branches breaking around them and something repeatedly threw snow or hard snow clods at them, while dogs barked nearby and a rank carcass-like odor was noticed. They jogged most of the way out, leaving around 3-3:30 a.m., and the witness believed deep snow ruled out a prank by a person.

Through the night they heard ape-like hoots, single-note whistles, repeated wood-on-wood whacks from several directions, heavy two-legged footsteps, and nearby rockslides. The witness was hunting deer from a remote elevated blind on two consecutive mornings. After wildlife fell silent around 7 a.m., prolonged branch breaking and pounding on trees was heard for hours, a frightened hog fled the woods, a branch struck the blind, and deep growls were heard. On the second morning approach, something was heard walking alongside in the brush and a close growl was heard near the stand before the noises resumed at daybreak. Nothing was ever seen and no tracks were found.

The witness climbed into a tree stand before dawn to bow hunt. While it was still dark, something breathed heavily beneath the stand for about 10 minutes then walked away to the southeast. Shortly after sunrise in light fog, the witness saw a large human-like figure about 100 yards away walking east at a fast pace. After climbing down, the witness followed its footprints eastward.

The witness waited without further sighting and left the woods early, reporting fear.
