Unidentified sound near Putnam County
The witness, young daughter, and small dog walked an unlit road through wetland to the water. After ice-breaking triggered a heavy thud on one side, the return ice-break triggered overlapping whoops with chatter on the other side. The daughter then reported a large black man-like figure crossing the road ahead and staring at them; no tracks were found on frozen ground.

On a day scouting trip the group followed a possible trail to a structure and left a drop-box recorder in a tree at 3 p.m. Audio review later revealed unusual chatter and activity. That night a hike produced distant screams and a large parabolic at camp recorded bipedal walking.
Chatter near Bemidji, Minnesota
About a month later while staying in a detached garage loft near Bemidji for tree work, the witness lay in bed with the window open and heard gibberish-like chatter outside. He stayed on the phone with a friend until the chatter stopped a couple hours later and had no further activity there.
Wood knock in Oregon
Two companions camping with minimal supplies at a remote lake heard faint knocking, cracking, and chatter-like voices in the evening, followed by a whoop, with elk bugles also audible. At the time they reasoned it might be other people, but years later after hearing similar sounds described as associated with large hairy beings, one concluded it may have been such beings.

Guiding a night group, the guest used a thermal and saw a large figure step from behind a pine about 100 yards away, then a second smaller one peeking. They watched 15 minutes until the battery died, heard movement, screaming and chatter for hours, and next morning found scat and hundreds of footprints over their tracks.

While the group talked around a campfire, a recorder left about one hundred twenty yards away captured what sounded like two individuals communicating. The recording was described as clear monkey-like talk rather than screams. The witness offered to share the audio for cleanup and analysis.

A very large hairy figure approached on its belly then stood to about nine feet, displaying threatening behavior. Chatter near Shaver, California
The witness and his wife stayed several nights in a rented cabin off Bretts Mill Road. On the first night they heard non-English chatter, found silver-dollar-sized rocks thrown on the deck and roof, and the next morning followed two large human-like tracks in snow that split and appeared to follow deer. Later the front door was found wide open despite latching difficulty, and on the final early morning something slapped the cabin and turned the locked door handle before running off, prompting them to leave at daylight.

The witness and several friends camped on family land in South Florida near the national park. At night they heard hisses, tree knocks and whoops, saw strange lights, then saw a group of large hairy bipeds that threw rocks, injured a friend, threw a large dog, and chased the group as they fled on ATVs. The next day the camp was found destroyed and the dog was found dead.

A visitor from the UK went to a beach near Monterey to photograph sea otters at sundown. She watched six very large, hairy bipeds come around a cove, with a large male wading while others handled seaweed on the sand. After her camera gear clattered on rocks, the male approached and argued vocally with a female before threatening her, after which she lost consciousness.

Over three years after the main walk, the witness reports recurring being-watched feelings, crashing sounds, silence, dog reactions, chattering and screams, odors, thrown sticks and debris, and one eyeshine about 8 ft high.
Chatter near New Waverly, Texas
In November 2003 at the same forest the witness heard a limb snap and later whisper-like chattering that moved to maintain distance while he searched with a flashlight, finding only a hair later determined to be plant origin.
Chatter in Florida
While working in Florida, the witness repeatedly heard rapid chattering from woods behind the parking lot as distant coyotes went silent, and smelled a wet-dog and skunk-like odor from the swamp. The sounds lasted minutes and recurred on several occasions. Nothing was ever seen.

The witness stopped a truck on the highway in early morning to let a small dog out. The dog stared up a tree where a large monkey-like creature crouched, then a much larger creature carrying a wild hog emerged. Both creatures screamed at the witness, the female left toward a chirping sound, and the larger male approached, displayed the hog, then let the witness back away to the truck and drive off.

During a late-August stay, the witness heard dog-like barking that shifted into loud bellowing and back-and-forth arguing voices, including a low male tone and higher voice. On a subsequent evening the same exchange recurred and included clear help me phrases that the witness felt were non-human mimicry. The next morning broken trees and a large X structure were noted, and the X later disappeared.

During the first night of the December trip the campers reported hooting and chimp-like chatter, an outhouse door moving, eyes in forest, and tent zipper and fire-pit disturbances with objects thrown in lake.

The witness was in a tree stand when he heard higher-pitched chatter and movement approaching, followed by a grunt, silence, and sounds of two things running downhill. Using his crossbow scope he saw a dark-skinned hand on an oak and then a face peering at him, later stepping into a shooting lane. After he lowered his bow the female left downhill where a loud pop and crashing was heard, and a healthy snapped tree was photographed the next morning.
Chatter in Ohio
Early in the season on a new hunting lease the witness heard distant talking that could not be made out. A few days later both the witness and his brother heard the same talking, described as gibberish between two sources. Over the following weeks they heard additional talking, a whoop and rock clacking sounds that could not be identified.

At a rural house on the Oregon coast the household experienced repeated night howls, growls, talking-like sounds, dogs reacting, motion lights, a hand smudge, and large footprints in hard gravel. Young children repeatedly described dark hairy figures with flat noses and red eyes pawing or scratching at a bedroom window, motioning to come outside, and disappearing and reappearing.

The witness, then a teen, walked deep into unfamiliar old-growth woods while squirrel hunting alone. After feeling dread and hearing movement and strange chattering laughter from a laurel thicket, he fired a warning shot and saw a hairy bipedal figure emerge. He fled as it pursued parallel to him until he reached his house, where he and his brother later fired into the woods.
