Footsteps in Ohio (2003)
In September 2003 the witness and a hunting partner were coon hunting at night in a cornfield in Ohio with two hounds. The dogs went silent and their radio trackers gave no signal, then something large circled the men in the corn with audible running and heavy breathing. A large amount of foul-smelling clear slime splattered onto the partner, and the men retreated to the truck to find both dogs cowering underneath, unwilling to load.

The witness was awakened by barking dogs and went out with a rifle to check the property. Something rushed past in the dark and the witness fired shots, then resupplied and smelled a strong fecal and wet-grass odor. From a rooftop perch the witness watched a tall dark figure by a school bus that looked toward him, crouched, then ran away, accompanied by strange howl-growl sounds from dogs nearby.

After another family with dogs left, the group noticed a tall hairy figure watching from the treeline. The figure walked quickly to the water, knelt to drink several times while looking around, then left into the forest. The group stayed still, later fired guns to make noise, and left the area early.

The witness was camping with three dogs and playing with them near the campfire before sunset when loud primate-like calls were heard from up the mountain and canyon. After the witness mimicked the calls, the callers replied and appeared to move closer, while the dogs grew fearful and cowered. Once sounds were very close in the trees after dark and the dogs barked aggressively at the vehicle windows, the witness left the area by vehicle.

The witness visited a relative's house after a goose was found dead with a broken neck, punctures, and missing insides. She also reports finding a four-toed footprint, flattened weeds suggesting something had lain down and walked through, and damage to a chicken-coop roof. The night had been unusually quiet and livestock were nervous the next morning.

Up close they described a tall gray hair-covered figure near the tree line with large reddish-reflecting eyes that repeated arm movements before walking into the woods. A couple went ginseng hunting in woods behind their home on a summer morning. The husband heard brush movement across a ditch and then saw a hair-covered figure from the chest up watching them from 20 to 30 feet away. After watching for several minutes, the couple slowly left uphill while the figure continued to observe, and the wife also saw it as they left.

Two officers driving in the early morning in central Louisiana stopped beside a freshly hit deer on the highway shoulder. They watched a large hair-covered human-like figure squatted beside the carcass raking insides out and eating rapidly. After watching for a couple minutes they drove around it at close range and left, later returning to find the carcass gone.

The witness was hiking a logging trail beside a meadow when he mistook a stooped animal digging in an uprooted tree for a bear and called out while drawing a handgun. The animal stood to about seven feet, showed raised hair that settled after he holstered the weapon, and fixated on the yellow towel around his neck, which he tossed toward it before backing away. Turning, he faced a much larger second individual about ten feet away and fainted, waking minutes later to find both gone, the towel missing, and a folded leaf with grubs inside his cap.

After hearing brush explode and later feeling watched, the witness saw a hair-covered bipedal female creature stalking and then running alongside. The creature chased the witness down a dim road to the truck, after which the witness fled and suffered nightmares for two years.

An unseen heavy animal was heard breaking limbs, breathing and grunting at the tree line, then shadowing the walk and stopping when the witness stopped. The witness reached the truck and left without ever seeing the source.

During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

The witness and companions were hunting and camping by a gravel pit near a pond. In the late evening they noticed a strong odor from across the water and two of them crossed a dike to investigate. They heard growls and vegetation shook violently, so they retreated. Through the night they heard moaning and howls and had rocks and limbs thrown toward them from across the pond, finding no tracks the next morning.
Man and wife have separate strange encounters in same area
In the early morning the witness was at a rental mobile home property with his wife to check on tenants and let dogs out. The dogs refused to leave the porch while reacting to movement in an adjacent tobacco field. The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.
Teenage girl and her younger sister chased out of the woods near Greenwater
During a daytime rock-hunting outing, the witness and her younger sister walked down a trail past a creek. Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.

The witness was alone stalking grouse with a slingshot about two miles from a family camp. He heard bipedal footsteps and saw a large all-brown figure walking 100 yards away. After he made a family hoot call, the figure hid motionless behind a narrow tree for 30-45 minutes, then sprinted away on two legs when he approached, outrunning him to a cliff area.

After a deep growl and handgun shots, they were confronted at the treeline by two large hairy figures that stomped, rocked, and threw branches. In December 2001 four hunters were leaving the woods along a logging road after dark when something in the adjacent swamp repeatedly screamed and charged toward them while breaking branches. The group was armed but could not see the source, felt the ground shake, and described the screams as extremely loud and frightening. After several bluff charges, the source moved deeper into the swamp and the hunters left the area.

Two brothers were deer hunting and walking the center of a dark highway back toward town at night. Two unseen animals on opposite sides of the road screamed repeatedly, closed distance, and paralleled their movement. The men stood back to back, shouted warnings, and fired rifles until the sounds stopped and headlights appeared.

The witness stopped at the roadside by a lake shore before dawn while commuting to work and noticed a strong musky odor and a woofing sound. A tall dark-haired entity stood up beside the witness, shook a small tree, made a squealing bark sound, then strode past onto and across the road into pines as a truck approached. The witness immediately left the area.
