The witness was sleeping in a travel trailer at a hunting camp when violent shaking woke him. An air horn had no effect, but setting off the truck panic alarm with lights and horn stopped the shaking. About five minutes later a very loud howl-growl-scream came from behind the trailer. The next day the witness and a companion could not replicate the movement by pushing the trailer.

The witness was driving east on Highway 169 toward Virginia on a bright Sunday morning when she spotted a large silvery-gray furry creature on a hilltop clearing north of the westbound lanes. On the morning of October 5 2009 the witness and a companion were driving toward a hunting area when two black upright figures about seven feet tall ran across the road and into dense brush. The witness drove closer and then got out to listen but heard nothing and the figures were gone.
