A witness and a relative were carrying camping gear to canoes in the afternoon when they heard an extremely loud bellow followed by muffled talking-like sounds. The witness retrieved a shotgun and moved toward a river point while the relative watched from the canoes. The witness heard heavy footsteps and brush movement heading toward the rapids but saw nothing, and found dry crossing rocks with no splashing. He concluded whatever made the sounds must have leapt rock to rock to cross.

Three people paddleboarding in the shallow back end of a lake at sunset came across a long trackway of very large footprints in the mud under the water. The prints appeared to follow elk tracks and occasionally veered aside near underwater nest-like depressions with shells. No figure or animal was seen, and the witnesses estimated a foot far larger than a human foot with very long strides. The tracks had washed away by the next day.

The witness and a companion were hiking back up a forested trail in the evening when they heard loud branch-breaking sounds, saw bushes sway, and smelled a strong garbage-like odor. After the forest went quiet, the witness turned and saw a very large, dark reddish-brown, ape-faced head peering over vegetation, which watched curiously for a few seconds before moving behind a tree. The companion heard the sounds and smelled the odor but did not see the figure, and the pair quickly returned to their vehicle.

The relative reported seeing a large hand press the tent wall, and both later reported seeing large upright figures near the truck and treeline, one illuminated by flashlight. After the figures continued circling the camp, the two packed the tent without breaking it down and drove away around 4 a.m.

The witness stopped roadside at night after hearing three whoop-like calls from downslope. The witness imitated the calls and heard a two-call reply, imitated that, then heard a sharp wood crack and a different, agitated howl. A passing vehicle ended the exchange, and further imitation attempts during a 40-45 minute wait received no response.

In mid-August 2012 around 1-2 a.m., the witness and a companion were driving on a rural wooded road when headlights illuminated a very large dark bipedal animal moving into the woods. The animal was described as much taller and wider than a tall adult man, with long swinging arms, and disappeared within seconds. Both occupants first thought it could be a bear before concluding it was walking on two legs.

Two people setting bobcat traps in a secluded mature forest found a section of pine trees twisted and snapped off. Several trees were strewn across and blocked the road they were walking, while others were suspended high off the ground and woven between other trees. A couple watching movies in a barn heard prolonged loud splashing along a nearby lake shore that stopped when a flashlight was shone toward it and then resumed in a different spot. They felt uneasy and left for the night. The next morning the wife found a very large human-like footprint with partial prints on the shore and kept a broken cast of it.

The witness and two companions were camping at the same forest campground where relatives had reported loud calls the previous weekend. After an evening hike and unsuccessful knocking attempt, they were stargazing around the campfire. They then heard two sets of rapid knocks from one direction followed within seconds by two howls from another direction, which they recorded. The camp was otherwise empty, with the nearest other campground miles away.

He looked toward the source and saw a creature kneeling like a person, which then stood, made eye contact for about 30 seconds, and ran through the woods. The witness was driving west at night with family in the vehicle when he saw a large grey-haired bipedal figure cross the highway ahead in the headlights. The figure moved quickly from woods on one side to woods on the other in a few long strides, remaining hunched over and not looking toward the vehicle. Only the driver observed the figure, as the front passenger was looking at a phone and the children were asleep.

Two companions were driving at night in a doorless vehicle when they made a wrong turn onto a dead-end road. As they turned around, the passenger alerted the driver to eyeshine behind a large tree caught in the headlights. The driver then saw large eyes about six feet off the ground and a large brown shape behind the tree. Both were frightened and did not get a prolonged look.
