Possible vocalizations heard at night in southern Eatonville
In late November 2014 the witness arrived home to an apartment in Eatonville and paused at the front door. She heard a very loud, powerful repeated hooting vocalization twice from the south, followed by dogs barking and howling across town. She described the sound as ape-like and extremely powerful, unlike any known coyote, elk, owl or livestock sound she knew.

The witness was hunting near a marsh trail when he found two broken turtle shells sitting on logs. After sitting to wait for deer he heard whoop-like calls from five directions for about 15 minutes, some seeming to come from trees, until he stood and the area went silent. While walking out he heard a loud bat-like crack and whooshing through nearby brush but saw nothing.

A child riding a toy vehicle in the backyard told a relative to come see something, but a relative hurried over and the thing was already gone. The child described a tall brown hairy figure watching her, with upright hair on top of its head, taller than a parent, and said it was not a cow from a nearby pasture. The family questioned the child and believed she had seen something unusual, and she has since avoided the spot.

Two people hiking near a lake in a remote state forest heard loud wood knocks and a long low-pitched howl from a ridge to the east. The sounds occurred around sundown while owls were also calling. The reporter felt the howl did not come from a coyote and noted no human habitation nearby.

The witness hiked down a service road into a ravine and heard two loud wood-on-wood impacts from uphill. After returning to the vehicle for a camera battery, the witness found a line of large tracks crossing a dirt berm that had not been there earlier. The witness photographed the tracks and made a cast of the clearest impression, also noting an odd odor and a crashing sound in the area.

The witness was standing on an effigy overlook in a state park around midday. A single upright animal reportedly emerged from brush about 50 feet away and traveled about 150 feet along a brushy river embankment before going back down toward the river, making crashing noise in vegetation. The witness observed it from the side and rear, describing it as tall, muscular, and dark, with long arms, but did not see its face.

The witness claims an extremely loud cow-call-like vocalization was encountered again less than a week ago in hardwood bottoms just before dark. The sound is compared to a human using a bullhorn and is said to vibrate the body. The witness was alone in a tent at camp while elk hunting and trying to sleep. He heard an unusually deep throat-clearing sound, then about 20 minutes later heard two rocks land near the tent with loud thuds. Shortly after, he heard drawn-out whoop-like calls coming from multiple directions around camp. He remained in the tent overnight and left after sunrise without checking for sign.

The witness and a companion were resting quietly on a rocky outcropping during a daytime hike when they heard a low growl-like exhalation immediately followed by a higher-pitched whoop from the forest below. The sounds were attributed to a single unseen animal about 30-40 yards away that seemed startled by a passing mountain biker. They searched the area a few minutes later but found nothing and heard nothing further.

A couple were picking mushrooms in dense old-growth forest in the afternoon when they heard crunching and repeated loud thumping likened to wood knocks from about 100 yards away. A few minutes later a loud snap like a small tree or large branch breaking occurred about 20 feet behind them. Frightened, they abandoned their mushrooms and left the area without seeing the source.

While bow hunting at dusk near a field and tree line, the witness stood to leave and saw a tall figure approaching that was first mistaken for a companion. As it closed to about 100 yards and stopped by a hay bale, the witness realized it was much taller and powerfully built with a high neckless head and long muscular arms, moving silently. The witness moved toward the tree line to avoid being silhouetted, then retreated to a truck and slapped the tailgate, after which the figure dropped to all fours and disappeared within seconds.

Around 1 a.m. the witness got up for water and looked out the kitchen window. About 20 yards into the woods behind the house, three pairs of red glowing eyes moved single file at an estimated 7 feet off the ground. No bodies could be seen in the darkness except moving branches, and the movement was described as smooth, balanced and agile.

Three relatives on a bow-hunting trip were sitting around a campfire at night when they heard whoops, howls, growls and footsteps and saw vegetation shake. After retreating to their camper and later going back outside, the companions pointed out movement by a white oak. The narrator then saw a massive standing creature with its arm against the tree, estimated the next morning at about 7 feet 5 inches.

The witness was leading a group morning run on a wooded trail when the group found large healthy trees blocking the track. Near the back wooded section the witness heard multiple whoop-like yells from both sides at a distance and smelled a strong musky sewage-like odor along the route. The witness ran back toward the start, where the rest of the group also reported hearing the sounds and discussing them as bigfoot calls.

The witness was bowhunting on the morning of October 9, 2014 in rainy and foggy conditions with very limited visibility. He heard and felt three loud impacts just out of sight, described as either rocks striking the ground or something stomping hard enough to feel in his feet. He called out, got no reply and heard nothing moving away, interpreted it as a warning and left.

The witness was walking north on an old railroad track through swamp while hunting when howls from the woods paralleled the movement. About a half mile ahead a large black figure was seen in the road, initially thought to be a bear. As the witness closed to about 100 yards the figure stood upright on two legs, moved into a ditch and tall grass, pausing to sway and look back toward the road while howling continued, before leaving into the swamp. Feeling nervous and sensing another presence behind, the witness left the area.

After dark with snow on the ground, while driving out for dinner, the witness stopped in the woods, struck a tree with a sledgehammer to make a low thump, and moments later got a reply knock from down the ravine. He joked it must be a redneck waiting to reply.

While the first witness was upslope, the other two hunters several hundred yards away along the same ravine heard whoops, loud rapid tree knocks, owls that turned into chicken and pig sounds, rock clacking replies, and large limbs popping in mature pines. They joked about the sounds at the time as bored owls and dismissed them. They later interpreted them as intelligent mimicry and communication coming up out of the ravine.

While hunting turkey alone along a driveway, the witness stalked what looked like a turkey to a ravine shelf, felt watched, then turned and saw a tall reddish-brown upright blur retreat very close behind him. He could not explain it as deer or bird because it made no noise. He moved to the open driveway and then heard extremely loud rapid tree knocks.

The witness and his son were driving on a rough road while hunting for deer late in the day. The witness stopped to scan a ridge about 300 yards away and saw a large dark standing figure near a tree that they joked looked like Bigfoot but assumed was a stump. After driving to a dead end and returning less than three minutes later, the figure was gone. The witness remains uncertain what it was and is not convinced it was Bigfoot.
