He stopped along with another driver to watch it, thinking it was a bear. The figure stood to about eight and a half feet, looked like a hairy human holding a dead goat or dog, grunted, slammed a fist into the water, then dropped to all fours and fled rapidly through water and woods. A state trooper who responded suggested a bear, which both witnesses rejected.
