Late at night the witness heard a very large bipedal animal moving through snowy woods to the woodline, breaking branches and small trees, but could see nothing despite moonlight. After listening with his wife from an upstairs window, he searched in the morning and reported large humanlike tracks, a crushed fence, and a dismembered deer with legs stacked by a sitting impression. While photographing the scene, he says a thrown stick struck his head, prompting him to run to the house.
Motorist has close encounter on Mallard Point Road near Lake Norfork
Late at night the witness stopped at a stop sign while driving out of a subdivision after visiting a friend. An upright, hairy figure emerged from the woods and moved quickly toward the driver's side door, prompting the witness to drive away quickly. In the rearview mirror the witness saw the figure cross the road behind the vehicle. The witness also reported a strong skunk-like and urine odor despite closed windows.
Hunter encounters freakishly large tracks in a field south of Cresco
The witness was hunting on public land in northeast Iowa just before dark when they found large single-file tracks in snow crossing an alfalfa field. The stride was far longer than the witness felt a human could manage in that snow depth, and the prints were later described as men's size 13-14 without visible toes. The tracks were estimated to be a few days old and were heading east.
Night time sighting by two witnesses at trailhead in Shawnee National Forest
The witness and her father were walking back to the trailhead parking area at night when the father noticed eyeshine in the trees to the side of the trail about 30-40 feet away. With headlamps on, they both observed shining eyes and the outline of a rounded head that turned to look at them before they turned their lights off. The figure then walked away downhill with heavy deliberate bipedal steps, paused, and remained nearby while the witness spoke softly before they left quietly. After returning home they photographed smudge marks on their vehicle that had not been noticed earlier.

The witness was walking alone halfway down the driveway on the way to school. They heard a sustained screaming vocalization described as lasting 15-20 seconds and seeming about half a mile away, the same sound heard a few days earlier. The witness felt the source had heard them and was silently following behind.

The witness claims that on full-moon nights in Jan, Feb and March 2008 and Jan 2009, screams and whooping sounds from the forest woke the witness around 4 to 4:30 a.m. Dogs throughout the area were also reportedly awakened. No visual encounter or source of the sounds is described.

The guest and his best friend were catfishing overnight below the dam when they heard a huge splash and loud tree-snapping approaching on the far bank. They lit up a tall, wide silhouette watching them from between two sycamore trees that peeked and rocked for a couple minutes before backing off and leaping away downriver. They reeled in and left, later concluding it could not have been a person or bear.
Property disturbance near Salt Springs, Florida (2009)
While camping with several families, the witness booby-traps a large latched cooler holding bacon and eggs under picnic tables. In the morning the tables are pulled apart, the heavy cooler is on top of a table, bacon is ripped open and gone, and there are signs of cooking on a griddle. No animal is seen and the witness later notes many reported sightings in the area.
Footsteps in Virginia (2009)
Late at night in a remote trailer, the witness felt a heavy bipedal impact land on the far end of the roof and shake the structure. It then walked the length of the roof toward her bedroom with long strides, stopping above her. She lost consciousness and woke the next morning still frozen in the same position.
Eyeshine in Idaho (2009)
The guest said he and a friend were forced to spend the night at Loon Lake after a day hike ran long. He described low yellow eyeshine close by, a feeling of being tracked, a glimpse of something jumping over a log, a siren-like sound late at night, and distant Ohio-style howls for over an hour in the morning before a motorcyclist helped them out.
Partial sighting in Idaho (2009)
During setup boulders fell from a cliff when pounding tent stakes, glow sticks left hanging disappeared, and around 1:30-2 a.m. loud rumbling like a herd rushed past the tents. Through night vision the witness saw four large quadruped humps with two in his truck bed that scattered when he hit the panic alarm. Next morning while picking sage, charging crashes and unfamiliar grunts and growls approached close and they left early.

The witness was staying at a rented house with a partner and they were on top of a vehicle looking at stars. They heard heavy breathing very close and saw the standing profile of a large hairy figure nearby. Both were terrified, ran to the vehicle, drove a short distance to the house, and hid inside with lights off.

The witness was shooting alone in the morning when they felt watched and heard bushes rustling nearby and a low deep purring sound. They fired warning shots and shouted toward the sounds, but the source did not retreat and remained at a distance. The witness left without ever seeing the source and wondered if it could have been a cougar or Bigfoot.

The guest lost a walkie-talkie and an unnoticed photograph went missing from a pocket while on a ridge. Four days later both items were found returned inside separate stacked-rock cairns on a traveled trail. He interprets the return as a response to years of consistent visits and baiting.

The witness and relatives reported finding two sets of large four-toed footprints in snow that crossed residential yards. One trackway led to a garbage can where bags had been pulled out and torn open, then continued to a neighboring driveway and toward woods and grass. Photographs were taken with a shoe for scale, showing deep impressions larger than the shoe. No creature was seen, and no unusual sounds or odors were noted the prior night.
Unknown early morning visitor heard by a youth leader in the Uwharrie National Forest
The witness was camped in a tent at a primitive site in mixed forest when, in the dark early-morning hours, footsteps were heard crunching through dry leaves off-trail. The unseen walker came from dense woods behind the tent, crossed the trail, and continued east smoothly without a light. The witness stayed still and never saw the source, but later insisted it was certainly bipedal and not a deer.
Fisherman don't return to their hot spot after strange encounter one night near Aberdeen
The witness and a companion arrived at dusk at their regular riverbank fishing spot to fish overnight. While gathering firewood, the witness found small barefoot human-like footprints in sand at the water's edge and showed them to the companion. They joked about the find and dismissed it at the time, only later interpreting the prints as possibly left by a juvenile after other experiences.
Possible nighttime sighting by a homeowner near Bonnie
Late at night in fall 2010, the witness was at home when barking dogs prompted an investigation and a large dark figure was seen crossing the pasture toward the barn. The witness got a firearm, stepped outside, fired a warning shot and then multiple shots as the figure ran through wire fencing and disappeared into corn behind the house while a dog chased. The shots did not appear to slow it.
Hunters report loud wood knocks in Escambia River Swamp, 3/4 mile NW of Cotton Lake Boat Ramp
The witness and two relatives were sitting in an enclosed deer blind near a river swamp in the morning. They heard three loud sounds like wood being struck nearby, followed shortly by three similar sounds from farther into the swamp. The woods were otherwise silent, and the group dismantled the blind and left soon after.
