Wood knock in British Columbia (2023)
During a summer expedition the witness and two companions followed responsive knocking sounds through forest toward a cut line. They exchanged mouth pops, whistles and rock strikes and repeatedly received two and sometimes three knocks back, including pops that seemed to come from the top of a large isolated tree. After sitting and listening for 30 to 45 minutes they found a large track and smaller juvenile-like tracks in moss nearby before leaving as the sounds stopped.

While driving home at night, two vehicle occupants reported seeing a very large man-like figure standing on two legs near the highway that then dropped to all fours. The other occupants did not see the figure. Shortly afterward four people returned to the spot and reported finding a line of deep massive bipedal tracks in snow, which they photographed and filmed.

After hearing a howl followed by five whoops surrounding the group, the witness and others went into the forest filming. Review of old footage later revealed a camouflaged hairy individual moving from center to left behind trees, distinct from another figure recorded at the same time. He describes hairy legs, torso and top of head visible through foliage and considers it a juvenile.

After a cold night sleeping out, the witness walked alone to a field where a large track had been found and sat with his back to the woods. He heard heavy stomps behind him and felt the ground shake, then saw a gray figure behind a tree about 30 feet away that struck the tree and vocalized. He scanned with his phone, noted an old tree break nearby and later heard two large knocks from another direction before returning to camp.
