Backpacker's moonlit encounter near the trail from Wright's Lake to Enchanted Pools
While camping alone at night near a stream, the witness heard a deep growl and saw a crouched dark mass at the treeline, fired warning shots, then heard rocks repeatedly splashing in the stream for hours and heard deep oof sounds on a later approach. Near dawn a very tall hair-covered female-like figure stood by the tent and walked rapidly toward the witness despite additional warning shots, then ran away over granite and out of sight. The witness remained in place until daylight and then hiked out.

A large camping group found a hut-like structure made of snapped boughs and filmed it in detail. While examining the structure, a group member pointed out a distant figure moving along a ridge. The witness videotaped the figure for several minutes as it moved back and forth, gestured, and disappeared behind rocks.

A television crew driving a large RV on a narrow forest road at dusk in rain spotted a figure ahead and filmed it as it walked bipedally across the road in front of them, illuminated by headlights, before disappearing behind a tree. Two witnesses ran outside to try for more footage but conditions were too dark and dense. The investigator later described the videotaped subject as a large, shaggy male figure and reported enhancements showed no sign of costume or effects.

The guest describes traveling with a companion to Northern California to look for footprints and riding out daily from a camp on Bluff Creek. On October 20 they rode up the creek bed and encountered a large muscular creature standing by the water, which the companion filmed while the guest covered him. They followed its scuffs and a partial footprint uphill, later protected tracks for others to see, and noted a strong musky odor.

While riding on horseback a few miles from camp, they came around a downed tree to see a creature standing by the creek. The companion dismounted with a camera to approach and film while the guest held the horses and watched from across the creek.

The witness took two daughters for an evening hike on a trail near home where large trees blocked the path. The youngest daughter froze after seeing movement, and the witness ran forward to see a large hairy human-like figure by a tree staring at them. After a tense standoff with rocking motion, the group backed away and returned to the car. The middle daughter had recorded video, and later visits found large bare footprints where the figures had been.

The TV guest and her crew were traveling in a van in a redwood area after several days of filming. Late in the day in dark rainy conditions, they observed a large upright figure from the van and recorded it with a small camcorder. The figure was described as very tall and heavy, and others in the group pursued it on foot without catching it.
