The next night two of the men returned to a different roadside pull-off in the same conservation area and stayed near the car. After one made whoop sounds, a loud close thud answered from the woods and was captured on both phones' recordings. One heard movement on his side of the car before they left after a few minutes.

Two officers spent a day hiking between a park trail and the uncle's land into an unlogged old-woods area. They filmed a rock box containing grape stems, numerous large fresh tree breaks all pointing the same compass direction, and a large intertwined structure at the top. They felt followed, heard large movement above them, human-like mumbling, footsteps that mimicked one officer, and a squirrel that abruptly went silent.
