Unusual thud and possible whoop heard along with feeling of being watched in Algonquin Provincial Park
The witness was lying awake in a tent at a Rain Lake campsite with a companion already asleep when a powerful but silent ground thud was felt very close to the tent, followed by a brief skunk-like odor. Later that night the witness heard an unusually loud whoop-like sound first taken for a loon. In the morning an indistinct disturbance entering camp and a freshly snapped tree stump were found, and while hiking out the witness felt watched.
Roadside sighting by a father and son north of Brockville
The witness was riding as a front-seat passenger in a van approaching a curve when they saw a large furry figure running upright across a crossroad and behind a billboard into brush and woods. The sighting lasted about five seconds and showed only the rear view. An impression in snow and mud, broken cedars, and a path through brush were noticed afterward.

The witness and two companions explored a deforested and mined area with piled boulders and abandoned mine buildings. Over about an hour they heard tapping from the woods, running footfalls, crashing in brush, and other strange noises, while stones were reportedly thrown toward the companions. They also found many snapped trees and a very large mound of possible scat that a tossed rock sank into.
Hikers find possible tracks and other sign on an old logging road outside North Bay
Three companions were walking a little-used logging trail north of North Bay near dusk when they found two barefoot-like half prints at the edge of a large puddle. The prints were described as human-like with five toes but about twice the width of the witness's own foot, with no other tracks around. Earlier on the same walk they had seen a small healthy tree snapped off high above the ground, and afterward they noticed bent trees that resembled a sleeping spot, though they discounted both.
