The witness entered the woods before daylight to deer hunt and heard grunting and heavy movement walking down a ridge behind him. After daylight he went to the area where the sounds originated and found bedding, hair, and broken branches along the path. The experience left the witness scared and uneasy.
Multiple sightings close to Lookout Mountain near Gadsden
Late in the evening the witness stepped outside and saw a figure standing in shadow. The figure crossed a lit area in about one and a half steps and entered the woods, with a rotten odor noticed at the time. The witness later described the figure as a tall, muscular, graying-haired figure with long arms.
Kayaker has rocks thrown and observes the culprit near Union Grove
Last summer the witness was kayaking down a creek around midday when rocks splashed near him. He looked toward the source and saw a creature kneeling like a person, which then stood, made eye contact for about 30 seconds, and ran through the woods. He noted its stride was wider than a human's and it went straight through brush. He then paddled back to his truck.
Unexplained happenings on a farm outside Tuscaloosa
A couple at their rural wooded home heard loud long guttural man-like yells almost nightly for several weeks in March 2012, usually around dusk. On March 31 the sounds seemed very close past the fence and suggested two individuals yelling, and on another night a growl from the same area frightened livestock. The sounds stopped for about a month and then resumed.

Around 1-2 a.m. the witness went to retrieve bags from a car near a carport and heard a snorting grunt. Backlit by a carport light, he saw a large wide shape that vocalized again, circled with him as he retrieved a rifle, then left toward the woods. Next morning he found disturbed ground suggesting large bipedal steps.
Exec on business trip has sighting from balcony of hotel near Huntsville
From a sixth-floor hotel balcony before dawn, the witness watched a tall hair-covered biped for five to six minutes at a distance. The being stared, rocked side to side, and repeatedly leaned to pull bark from a large pine tree. Afterward the witness fetched security and later returned in daylight to find fresh bark, deep ground indentations, and possible scat.
Possible stalking of couple parked at power line cut outside Opelika
The witness and his wife sat on his truck tailgate at a power-line clearing late at night when they heard snorting, brush breaking, and a loud growl/grunt moving up a steep hill toward them. The witness saw a large shadow moving on the slope in moonlight, heard breathing and stomping, and smelled a musky sour odor. After revving the truck engine the sounds crashed rapidly downhill, and the pair left, seeing deer run across the road as they drove out.
Young man has sighting near home
The witness was looking after his girlfriend and her younger brother when the locked front door knob was jiggled. After leaving to call police from his parents’ house, he stepped outside with a flashlight and saw a tall off-white muscular human-shaped figure standing in the weedy field in moonlight. The figure vanished when he raised the light again, and he later found the weeds mashed down where it stood.
Chatter near Piedmont, Alabama
The homeowner told the guest the phenomena had been present for years at the adjoining family homes. His mother repeatedly called him when she heard talking sounds she could not understand coming from around her garbage. He said he bought a spotlight and at times saw figures running away. He showed photos of very large footprints and bamboo that had been knocked down.
