Daylight sighting by a hunter on her hunting property near Pembine
A hunter encountered a large fur-covered creature crouched on all fours examining tracks in light snow at the edge of a cedar swamp. The creature stood and looked at her from about 20 yards away, frightening her, and she fled to her stand and called a family member. The family member arrived later and found tracks, broken branches and a bad smell, with a feeling of being watched.

While walking a ridge the witness noticed bent saplings and knocked on a tree, receiving clear wood-knock replies from a steep kettle below. A large living oak branch was then twisted toward the witness and ripped off, falling to the kettle bottom. Returning later with two companions, they found fresh twist damage and hand-like bark rubs with strong odor, then a young companion saw a light-colored bipedal figure and all heard a deep growl.
Man recalls encounter at a cabin on Nelson Lake
Late at night two boys inside a lake-front home noticed a shadow passing a high bedroom window and went outside with lights to check for an intruder. From a deck they heard a loud snap on a trail leading to the woods and saw a very tall, broad, black-haired upright creature run away and disappear. The next day a search found only a broken limb, and the witness later heard that nearby residents had also reported sounds, tracks and fence damage that night.
