In 1983 the witness was camping and was awakened around 11 p.m. by loud screams repeated every 15-20 seconds that approached through brush. The witness then saw a tall dark shape about 7-8 feet tall striding through undergrowth and yelled, after which it veered to go around and continued on screaming. A foul odor was noticed as it passed, and broken branches were found the next morning.

While camping with family and friends, the witness's young son ran from a dirt road saying he saw a tall hair-covered man. Later that evening the group heard heavy walking and loud limb-snapping in the adjacent woods and noticed a dead-like smell. Just after sunrise while camping beside a river, the witness and a companion heard breaking and crashing sounds moving through dense forest toward their tent. Heavy, slow footsteps approached to within a few feet behind the tent, paused, then moved away. The witness briefly followed on foot but saw nothing in the dense woods, and later found several small trees snapped or pushed over beyond a tangle of large fallen logs.

In 1977 two companions hunting frogs at a remote pond heard a roar and saw trees moving. One saw a large brown hairy form partly hidden behind a cedar tree and swaying. Both fled on foot while hearing heavy thuds, and one saw a large rock bouncing nearby. A few days later they returned and found a cleared limb bed and a limb torn from a mesquite tree, but no footprints due to rocky ground.

Three teenagers camping in a field behind a house smelled urine and heard something rushing through nearby woods. They fled toward the house as a tall hairy creature pursued them and later stood over their campfire throwing logs aside. The creature then circled the house and stepped onto the porch during the night before leaving by daylight, with broken branches found the next morning.

The witness was lying in a tent at night in woods near Mendocino when loud stomping and crashing of small trees was heard about fifty yards away. The sounds lasted about 30 seconds and were interpreted as a biped moving quickly, apparently pursued by barking dogs. After the crashing stopped, a dog was heard yelping as if badly injured, then silence fell. The next morning the witness found broken vegetation but no clear sign of its cause and moved camp.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.

While throwing a football alone at night, the witness noticed a small head with pointed ears peeking from behind tall hedge bushes and threw the ball toward it after it repeatedly ducked. Later that same night while sleeping near a low bedroom window, a much larger hairy face appeared at the glass, made eye contact, shifted its eyes, wrinkled its brow and opened a wide mouth showing pointed teeth. The witness fled to a parent's room while heavy pacing was felt and heard around the house, then police were called but found nothing. The next morning the witness found large prints around windows and garden, recalled repeated early-morning howls, a growl with a branch breaking, grunting in the basement and a violently shaking backyard tree.

The witness was hunting with two friends and hid alone in berry bushes to startle them. While waiting, the witness smelled a strong odor and saw a large hairy biped stand up nearby and walk away through thick brush, hearing snapping and leaf crunch as it left. The witness ran to the friends and later returned with them to find a squatted feeding spot and small broken trees.

In the summer of 1959 the witness was working as a counselor at a wooded Girl Scout camp. Over roughly two weeks, staff repeatedly heard footsteps moving through the tent area after dark, saw a dark figure near a hut, and found a director's tent ransacked, with deputies searching each day without finding anyone. On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.

The witness reports recurring nighttime activity over many years at her parents' wooded property. She and others hear footsteps pacing them along the tree line, loud crashing movement, screeching sounds and cracking noises, often accompanied by a strange smell. Family members and visitors have also reported red eyeshine and ape-like figures, and large footprints were found in snow. An investigator later visited, interviewed family members and noted unusual stick and vegetation features in the woods.

The witness and a tent-mate camped far from roads to be ready for an early volunteer shift. The tent-mate stayed awake most of the night hearing something walking around the woods that seemed to approach the tent, but headlamp checks showed nothing. In the morning both saw a nearby tree, about 50 to 75 feet from the tent, that had been pushed over during the night.

The witness was scouting remote mountain roads for fishing access when he found a newly placed stacked rock pile blocking the road. After stopping to inspect it, he heard something charge down the steep slope toward him and stop when he drew his pistol, then parallel him back to his vehicle unseen. He returned later with a hunting partner and heard coordinated whoops from multiple positions, and a few days later with a larger group found extensive tree damage, possible structures, and three sizes of bare human-like tracks.
