Couple have possible daytime encounter in the Pine Barrens near the town of Brown Mills
The witness was driving away from a bridge area after photographing water when she glimpsed in her rearview mirror a brown bipedal figure sprinting and leaping across the road behind the car. Her husband did not see it but reported hearing crashing through woods and a splash as they backed up. Shortly after while driving on they heard a repeated wuh / huffing noise, stopped to check under the vehicle, and found nothing.
Campers have possible encounter while staying in High Point State Park
Two brothers camped overnight beside a lake in the park. During the night and again after dawn they repeatedly heard a loud aggressive exhale-like sound nearby, along with footsteps and branches breaking as something moved through the forest, followed by scream-like sounds that turned into chatter. In daylight they found a matted vegetation bed, a fresh flattened trail, and footprints in mud where the sounds had come from. The entity itself was never seen.
Possible intimidation in the Pine Barrens
The witness visited a pine forest site three times in the early morning. On the first visit he heard heavy footsteps retreating, smelled a skunk-like odor, and saw a rock thrown into water. On later visits he heard loud repeated calls and low moans, heard footsteps approach to within about 15 feet without seeing the source, had a large stick thrown near him, left food and recorded vocalizations, and noted indistinct footprints and large broken trees.
Late afternoon sighting in the Pine Barrens
The witness and a companion stopped while driving on a dirt trail when the companion saw a tall brown figure cross the road. The witness got out to check and reported seeing a black-faced, ape-like animal with sandy-brown hair peering from brush about 25 feet away. After a few seconds it stood fully upright and ran bipedally into the pines, and the pair later heard bipedal running approaching the car before leaving.
Hunter has early morning encounter 8 miles north of Riverdale
A deer hunter sat in a tree stand on a crisp clear morning while noticing a strong foul odor. While walking back along an old logging trail around 10 a.m., the hunter saw a very large upright hairy animal step onto the trail, pause and look, then calmly walk away bipedally. The hunter ran the opposite direction, dropping gear, and later returned to find no tracks but noted a freshly broken branch.
