In the fall of 2001 the witness's daughter was driving up the gravel access road to the family home late at night after work. A large fur-covered figure running upright crossed a few yards in front of her headlights from west to east. She later compared its appearance to the creature from the film Harry and the Hendersons and was reluctant to discuss it.
Hikers find footprints and hair near Huntington Lake
Three hikers in the Rock Creek area found a line of very large footprints crossing a meadow to the north. They counted over a dozen identifiable tracks with deep impressions and long strides, and saw no other human footprints. Beside one print they found a broken branch with hairs on the bark, and later reported photos and analysis of the hair.
Bowhunter finds twisted trees, tracks, scat, & unusual sounds
The witness was bow-hunting in coastal second-growth forest on the morning of 9/1/01. He heard whooping and scream-like vocalizations followed by a large tree falling, plus heavy footsteps, and later found large ground impressions, broken limbs and tops, and animal hair high on a tree. An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.
Observation of possibly two animals in or near back yard of apartment complex
Over two nights a group of five gathered outside on the property for hide-and-seek and heard strange noises. The husband and a companion went to investigate and saw an entity 50 yards away hiding between two silos, noted for goldish reflective eyes, with a second smaller similar entity present on the last night. Tracks with reported measurements were found where they investigated.

The witness and companions walking a road on the property noticed unusually large human-like footprints in dry powdery soil. The prints were described as deep with a longer-than-human stride and were photographed and followed a short distance to a viewpoint before leaving the road. Weather at the time was very dry.
Boys are chased on way home from bow hunting
The witness and a relative were bowhunting for deer in the evening and started hiking downhill toward home after feeling watched. After hearing a loud crash in brush, they ran about half a mile while hearing something running behind them. They crossed a pasture gate, stopped, and watched a large hairy bipedal figure by the gate for about 30 seconds before it turned and walked away.
Campers hear animal groan, find tracks in the morning
The witness and companions were camping by a river when the witness heard groaning and splashing in the water around 2-3 a.m. The witness shouted, thinking it was a companion playing around, and the source of the noise left. At sunrise the group found very large footprints leading from the water into the trees.

The mother awoke overnight to a strong animal-like odor and sustained movement sounds in weeds outside her trailer window and retrieved a gun. The odor lingered in the trailer for over an hour. The next morning her daughter visited, heard the account, and found a large flat human-like footprint in mud outside the window, which she measured and photographed, plus reddish hair strands on a nearby tree.

The witness and a relative were camping overnight when they heard a loud whooping sound nearby followed by loud crunching like branches breaking. A girl was heard screaming after the whooping. In the morning they found large footprints near their tent measuring about 12 to 16 inches long, which they felt were too large for a bear.

The witness and his wife were hiking a busy trail in the Hoh rainforest in daylight when they found a bare human-like footprint. The witness photographed the print with his boot for scale and later described it as about 11-12 inches long with squared-off toes. He initially dismissed it because of heavy trail traffic but submitted it years later after seeing a similar track report.

Two people were camping on an island when they heard strange noises through the night into the morning. Around 8 a.m. the noises stopped and they heard something large running on a nearby island, accompanied by a very bad odor. They later found many large tracks around their island, plus a pile of clam shells and a large indentation that had not been there earlier.

While hiking a trail with a companion to look for the source of prior night sounds, the witness found a single fresh barefoot-like print beside the trail. The witness compared it to a shoe, tried to duplicate the depth, took video and outlined it with sticks for photos, then left quickly as it grew dark. The area also had large fallen-tree formations and abundant deer tracks.

Two companions leaving a house through the back noticed sudden silence followed by crashing sounds from a swampy gully below. They saw a large hair-covered bipedal creature standing in the water shaking a tree. The creature ran through the swamp and trees, and the witnesses immediately fled.
On-going encounters makes rural family cautious
In June 2001 the witness's children discovered large footprints in the field behind the family mobile home and photographed them. About a week later the children heard something running across the hillside while playing at the creek, and the family dog chased it and later returned covered in slime. The children later encountered large rocks rolling toward them on the hill, and the witness heard a loud prolonged growl, with a horrible unidentified odor lingering after the hillside activity.

Two cousins walking along a riverbank saw what the cousin thought was something standing about 100 feet ahead. The writer could not see it clearly without glasses, and the cousin then dismissed it as a stump. Going to the spot, they found three large human-like footprints in the sand, then left for a family picnic area.

A witness hiking on snowshoes along a gated forest road in fresh snow found six large prints crossing the road. He photographed the prints and measured them with a ski pole, noting a straight-line trackway with a long stride and no other footprints nearby. He did not leave the road to follow the trail, and the prints were melting rapidly when he passed again about an hour later.

Six companions walking in riverside woods around 12:30 a.m. saw a large furry creature crouched behind a bush between two trees, holding a tree and peering at them. When they turned on a camera light they saw red eyeshine and fled in fear. The video did not capture the creature, and later daytime return visits found bones, fur, and a dead deer nearby.
Father and daughter observe unusual tracks
The witness and her father were hiking back toward Kennedy Meadows Campground after crossing the river upstream when the witness noticed unusual barefoot-like prints in the forest between the river and the Pacific Crest Trail. Both examined the prints, described as large, flat, five-toed and human-like. They could not age the prints precisely but thought they were made after rain five days earlier and within the last day or two.

The witness was walking two dogs on a trail when one dog alerted toward bushes. The witness then saw a large dark figure standing by a tree about 40 feet away, later observed walking upright with bare lower legs and no visible clothing. The witness retreated to a truck with the dogs and the figure was gone.
Possible track find on outing
The witness was camping in the White Mountains in March 2001 and found large bipedal prints in deep snow with an ice crust off a snowmobile trail. The prints were described as much larger than a boot print, without human tread, breaking through ice layers that supported the witness. The witness did not follow the tracks and did not see the maker.
